Mario on Joe Rose tomorrow: 7 am

Oh I one hundred percent agree with the way TV watching has changed over the last 10 years. I think anybody under 35 streams virtually 100% of the time, people over 35 probably some combination thereof of streaming and the “old fashion regular TV watching by time“. But it’s all headed towards virtually 100% streaming/subscriptions, and in short order. Even AT&T which probably has one of the oldest systems still in place, is encouraging new customers to go to the streaming platform.

Honestly, nowadays, probably the only thing I watch using the “old method“ is live sports. Whether an ESPN or local network affiliate, but even then, about half the time, I’m streaming it on some platform whether it’s Apple TV or Roku, or one of the shltty Samsung apps on one of my Samsung TVs
AT&T won't even sign new customers to cable anymore, at least not in my area. They are absolutely phasing it out. I hate that too, because the DVR pause/rewind/fast forward functionality on streaming is absolutely awful compared to my cable box. But yeah, that's the way things are headed.

You’ve hit on the one really major disadvantage, is that whatever platform you’re using, usually you can’t pause, unless you’re using YouTube TV which I don’t think has huge market penetration, the old systems with DVR‘s works great for live sports. I absolutely 100% agree that that’s something that they all have to work out. For example ESPN app won’t let you pause live TV or record, as far as I can recall, but you can rewatch later, they usually put it in the archives right away.

I also think Hulu/live has the pause/record option for sports, but I only have regular Hulu I don’t have that particular option version.
And the functionality of Hulu Live DVR sucks, compared to the cable box. At least it did when I tried it around 2 years ago.

I used to watch Sports Center while getting ready for work every morning. Now, I occasionally check in on SVP at night, maybe once or twice a month on average. I do not think my experience is unique. They have turned a lot of people off. Comparing their ratings today, to a year ago or a month ago is meaningless. Nothing goes down in a straight line to zero, but that is still the general direction for ESPN.

Stick to sports, clowns. And show a little bit of humility and humor.
I mean, their streaming service (what it's really all about these days) ESPN+ subscriptions are up big time and will probably hit 20 mill by the summer, and that's after a price increase. Other than some call options on Disney, I don't have a rooting interest in whether they do well or not. Just pointing out that they're doing just fine and are on an upward trajectory. They've adapted to the changing media formats quite well.

That’s exactly right. What I think they’re pushing is their DIRECTV/streaming option.

Knight on proved to me he will be an NFL 3rd down back and a heck of a good one.
I hope we get to see him with a real running attack. I have a hard time judging him when 70% of his runs were inside draw or the inside give on RPOs. He’s got a great burst that is noticeable when he plays.
But what do I know. I’m surely no scout.

That's almost entirely because it is packaged with Disney+. As a Disney stockholder, I can also tell you that has not been going as well as initially anticipated. I'm thrilled that I bought between $80 and $120, but sure wish right now that I'd sold at $200. If they don't bring back a meaningful dividend soon, I'll find better use for that capital. I still believe in the company and power of the brand(s) long term, but current management leaves a lot to be desired.

I would also bet that most who pick up an ESPN+ sub do it for live sports, not the talking head content.

But yeah, it's asking a lot to fill 24 hours with "content", and they would be in a downward spiral either way, but they've done themselves no favors with the humorless, super serious, hyper political approach they've taken.

Yeah I bought at 50 and have held, but I’m taking a hard look at putting that money elsewhere.

Lol you’re right Justice Ellison out of wake forest is better 🤡

You can't argue with numbers. I can promise you that, if Rooster finishes his career with that same YPC, NFL GM's are not going to view him as "elite". Don't take it personally, it is what it is.

**** sounds like our team two years ago with Pope and Wiggins dropping balls left and right.
Oh god don’t remind me of that. I remember I want to stick my foot through the tv. Remember they wouldn’t fight for the ball. One stood out when it was a sideline throw and he just slowed down n go bullied.

You literally only watch Miami football. It is the only explanation. You probably don't even watch that because Knighton isn't even the best back in the room.

Knighton is starting on most teams... Chaney is the best back on the team when healthy. The stats will come the talent level is already apparent.

Most people hate the guys that just keep it 100. When he said we weren't the real Miami he was right. That wasn't the real UM....he was honest said he hates Miami truth. If we play ball again he seems like the type that will say Miami is back. People don't like guys that just tell it like it is they like those fluff pieces. Like Manny is a good hire type talk when it wasnt.

All recruiters he said....we never have had that before. That's the types of staffs that win Natty's. Can't be lazy on the trail that **** does not work in today's age.
