Mario on Gattis / Staff

His offense looked like it lacked the talent to compete against those teams, so did our defense. Fast forward now i al being told the talent can’t compete with MTSU
BS. Ole Miss was putting up points against Bama. They didn't have more talent than us. Lane is a good OC. Lashlee ain't it

why? He's been a QBC for about 10 years as well as an OC for several. I think he has the bona fides to be a QBC.

Ehhh, I dunno boss.

I’m looking at Ponce’s tenure as a QBC. He’s produced a lot of sub 2500 yrd QBs (on avg.) His QBs r producing at a TD:int rate of 2.5:1. His best season as a QBC came in 2021 w/ Brice; but, even though Bruce was his first QB to throw for over 2,700 yrds, he threw 11 ints compared to 27 TDs.

That brings us to 2022; all of our QBs under his tutelage have become turnover machines. Ppl wanna complain about MTSU, & I suggest u go look at how **** poor those ints were that TVD started the game w.

This seem to be a trait of whatever he’s teaching, & furthermore, his passing offense is very dink & dunk which is y he went right back to App St after his failure at UL.

Correct, but it wasn’t in-season is my point like everyone has been clamoring for Mario to do. This is still a coaching fraternity; it does matter how HC treat staff members.
I agree w your overall point but gattis is a **** to everyone who hes coached with (see locksley, Harbaugh, etc.). hes one guy you say **** off

along with that, it could be assumed that brice just wasn't a p5 QB. he struggled at two p5 schools and only found success in the sunbelt

You are correct. Getting fired hurts the resume, but it does get him paid.
lol yep the blueprint is already there get fired take an analyst job at bama get paid 2 mil to coast and learn from saban get a hc job because people will hire anyone coming from that program.

Since our OC's since the glory days have been trash, that makes Lashlee good. SMH. What his offense do against Clemson and Bama? NOTHING.
lol. we wouldn't do **** on those schools even w Sark as OC. were too weak up front. I dont judge lashlee or other OCs based on what they do against NFL type DLs. I judge them for what they do to everyone else (until we have elite talent to go h2h). I said he was a good OC not an elite OC as well.

Yeah; I thought he would be good, but I don’t like his attitude. It looks like he was fool’s gold that rode the coattail of others who were the real mastermind. But he can’t leave soon enough

to me, when you get forced a co-oc onto you after having the job solely for 2 years (of bad offenses too), youre not good. a lot of mich fans thought Moore should've won the broyles if a mich assistant were to win from what I read. Michigan has been just as good if not better w Weiss and Moore as OCs (who were the two Harbaugh hired and promoted to take a bigger role in the O).

Yeah; all facts

Is it just me or does this new OC need to be a QB coach? This way he's with our QBs after every series making adjustments and getting feedback from what our QB sees on the field.
This also allows for the WR coach to actively coach our WRs instead of being focused on calling plays.

I didn't see it being a problem, I thought we'd hit a homerun honestly, but now looking at it, Mario/Rad need to make an adjustment. Sometimes the greatest idea in the world just doesn't work out....when we heard these hires, no one on CIS thought we'd be sitting at 5-6, forced to win vs Pitt to get bowl eligible.
Joe Brady isn’t a classic QB coach. If he’s doing it now. Not sure if he can coach mechanics. Schematically, I’d like him.

As it relates to Gattis, I’m making an educated guess that the WRs snd Emory Williams committed to the school and Mario and not Gattis and his system.

I could argue that firing Gattis immediately after Pitt would be a boost to recruiting and not a detriment
His firing is an obvious boost to recruiting. No one want to play for a guy who pus up 8 yards in a half.

I don’t have to assume.

Look at what happened at Oregon and here.

What does that data and info tell you?
Oregon was #10 in yards per play last year against Power 5. This year they are #3. I would largely attribute that difference to Quarterback play and Oregons injuries last year with Verdell tearing his knee up.

Quarterback personnel falls on Mario so fine to critique him on this, but the bro style **** is really played out. They were top 15 in yards per play against Power 5 in all 4 years of Mario’s HC tenure at Oregon.

He messed up the hiring process, badly, on both sides of the ball. People should be focusing on this, not whatever offense they think they believe Mario is married to because his offenses at Oregon were good.

Oregons RBs this year are transfers. they lost their best backs. they brought in a previously bum transfer QB from AU. Oregon had better runners last year w dye and Verdell. he also inherited a top tier QB but hasn't recruited a single useful one since. they also score a lot less overall than Dillinghams offense does this year.

How can you judge Gattis with this garbage ol and all the injuries we have by your logic. Seriously, Gattis is trash and Lashlee is average. That's why none of the big boys never tried to hire him
