This. Seems like he is being a diplomatic leader to the media. To me it reads as, I know this offense sucks but I’m not going to blame anyone publicly and will handle the issues internally and hopefully that means Gattis is gone.
Not sure how to interpret the coaches getting pushed around thing. Unless he means Gattis is a bully.

On the transfer portal:

“We came here to do this the right way and do right by people but also elevate this program,” he said. “That requires some hard line decisions and not taking any bullcrap, you know? … Everything players, everything alumni, all that stuff – you need to be a tough son of a *****. That’s why this requires every ounce of what I have, the rest of the staff and players have. Just 1,000 miles per hour, take the lumps that come with it so we can keep moving forward, progressing.”


Ferman is listing the following players as already determined to be entering the portal:

Keshawn SMith
Elijah Roberts
Thad Franklin
Avery Huff
Gil Frierson

Is it just me or does this new OC need to be a QB coach? This way he's with our QBs after every series making adjustments and getting feedback from what our QB sees on the field.
This also allows for the WR coach to actively coach our WRs instead of being focused on calling plays.

I didn't see it being a problem, I thought we'd hit a homerun honestly, but now looking at it, Mario/Rad need to make an adjustment. Sometimes the greatest idea in the world just doesn't work out....when we heard these hires, no one on CIS thought we'd be sitting at 5-6, forced to win vs Pitt to get bowl eligible.

Curious...did Ferman post this list after Roberts, Franklin, and Frierson entered the portal?

As it relates to Gattis, I’m making an educated guess that the WRs snd Emory Williams committed to the school and Mario and not Gattis and his system.

I could argue that firing Gattis immediately after Pitt would be a boost to recruiting and not a detriment

I never thought we would be this bad but alot of ppl did think that Gattis was a bad fit. Even @Stevo365 was initially hesitant about the Gattis offense.

There were also several ppl joking about 5 TE sets bc they knew Gattis offense was prehistoric.

Mario makes it a point for players to commit to the HC and not position coaches and coordinators

TrumpyCane remembered him saying it first couple days on the job, said most coaches won’t be at your school your whole career
