there are a lot of in game mistakes beyond just the offensive scheme that falls on Mario and not his coordinators as well.Mario fixes his offense and he fixes 80% of his issues. It’s very simple. The biggest and most obvious problem with this team is the offense. These other first year coaches doing well have a complimentary offense.
Our defense is great but if it had a complimentary offense, I dont think they would struggle the way they do

Meh I’ll disagree. Everything is just magnified right now cuz the offense is so abysmal. Timeout usage, slow pace when down right before half, etc. I’m sure there is more I can point to but again, fix the offense and things will feel differentthere are a lot of in game mistakes beyond just the offensive scheme that falls on Mario and not his coordinators as well.
its a continuing thing from the beg of the year. it got worse as the team has played worse each week and more magnified.Meh I’ll disagree. I thought we had hit rock bottom at that point and here we areYes. People performing gold metal mental gymnastics on here about expectations and players and culture to avoid the simple truth that the coaching has sucked *** so far.
Reality hurts.Let's give this the ol' bump because we're seeing first year guys around the country show us what GOOD COACHING actually looks like.
Lincoln Riley: 8-1. Really haven't played anybody of note aside from Utah, who they lost o. However, they have won the games they're supposed to. Riley's offensive identity has clearly impacted that team.
Brian Kelly: 7-2. Took a bad loss to a mediocre FSU team week 1. Kelly didn't let his players quit on him though; even after a second loss in-season to Tennessee. All he did was keep his team motivated to win a huge game against Bama. All this despite not doing this WiTh HiS oWn GuYs.
Mike Elko: 6-3. Sitting at second in the CoaRstal division.
Marcus Freeman: 6-3. Had some bad losses early in the season. His team hasn't quit on them. Just took down a more talented, but overrated Clemson team.
Dan Lanning: 8-1. Their offense looks better under this defensive-minded HC than it did at any point under Cristobal. Has Bo Nix, who was ran out of Auburn, on ******* Heisman watch lists.
Billy Napier: 5-4. Has a TE playing QB and a roster that isn't his. Team is still fighting for him as opposed to our team who has clearly quit on Cristoal.
Sonny Dykes: UNDEFEATED after they went 5-7 last season. Don't talk to me about needing your own guys or a ******* rebuild. Good coaching get results.
Cristobal is a bad coach, horrible game manager and motivator of people. This team has quit on him. It's clear. Whatever bullsh't he's selling, they're not buying. You don't need 3 years to turn a roster over. Especially with unlimited initial counters and the transfer portal.

I greatly respect you as a poster, but this same team (without the exception of a couple of guys) finished last season on a 6-1 clip. They played hard in all of those games, and fought til the end.People said 2-3 years and then everyone got hyped up by the offseason and weak schedule and got overly optimistic. The MTSU loss was unexpected and really shook people. The staff has to do better, but nothing can overcome players complacency with losing.
Yea hopefully some of this is a result of not meshing with the mix of players and staff this first year. If he is gonna be just a recruiter guy who doesn't even do the CEO stuff well then we are gonna need a fully-empowered former HC as an assistant.Cristobal is a bad coach, horrible game manager and motivator of people. I respect your opinion as well. There is more than one thing responsible. Coaches don't run the wrong routes, miss tackles, or blow coverages. You heard Leonard Taylor last week talk about how he cut out junk food and started putting more time in the film room and the results have shown on the field. Last year we heard Harley say he decided to play at his best and put in extra effort. They've been allowed to skate by as long as they were present on game day to go through the motions.I greatly respect you as a poster, but this same team (without the exception of a couple of guys) finished last season on a 6-1 clip. It’s not only the MTSU loss. It’s also the horrible losses to Duke and F$U, and the fashion in which we lost.
In my opinion, it’s not right to throw the players under the bus. It all starts at the top. Ownership for the problems that ail the program has to start at the top.
I saw our Defense playing hard yesterday til the end. They were fighting to not let those ***kers score again, but weren’t able to do it. Too many people erroneously saying that the players gave up. That’s a false narrative. There just were too many breakdowns once again. Too many busted coverages, bad/conservative play calls, OL miscommunication, missed tackles.
All of these things usually fall on the coaches. It’s one thing to get beat in tight coverage, or to have a dude make an incredible play, but that’s not what we’re seeing on a weekly basis. What we’re seeing is, in my opinion, a ton of mental errors and lack of fundamentals, as well as bad scheming. All symptoms of poor coaching.
Am I absolving the players of any guilt. No, I am not. But it’s difficult to buy in to the pile of **** that they’ve been sold.
This wasn't a rebuild coming into the season. That's for **** sure.Throwback preseason tidbit from anonymous coach:

Nope.. when most are predicting 9-3 or better, including Vegas, then there's nothing to say about the season except it was an utter failure. This wasn't a rebuild coming into the season. That's for **** sure.
That narrative didn't pop up until Cristobal and his disjointed staff stunk the joint up.
