Mario is a problem on Offense Mopes get in here.

From that same article:

Miami’s 48-33 win over Texas A&M in Week 2 didn’t just move the Canes into the AP Top 25; it also resonated with top recruits who had been waiting to see whether Cristobal’s program was ready to break through.

“That one game has changed the complexion of our recruiting and how we’re viewed around here,” Dawson told The Athletic.
...
Behind the scenes, the Canes are excited about the reaction from top-ranked recruits who have been keeping an eye on Miami.

“Their jaws just dropped,” Cristobal said. “They’re right on the edge, waiting to see. This was just the beginning. We have a lot of guys committed elsewhere who we’re fixing to flip.”

The running clock rule also helps Mario. The prior clock rules put an emphasis on scoring and passing and tempo. With the new rules, you still need to pass the ball, but the scales have been shifted where running the ball and defense has a bigger role than it did last year. I think Mario likely still feels a little out of place with the super fast tempo, pass heavy offenses of years past; but with these new rules he's squarely in the majority.
I think he realized college football is just different now. You have to have an attractive offense if you want to get the best players.

Even if the Gsttis offense were successful, it would never attract the top skill players.

I think Dawson needs to think a little bigger and get the very top QBs moving forward. There's no reason we can't recruit the QB position like Lincoln Riley at USC or Ryan Day at Ohio State, especially given how our WR recruiting will be elite moving forward.

I think Jaccuri and Emory have elite traits meaning they both have high ceilings. Judd is TBD. I'm not going to pass judgment on a high school kid. Kids develop at different rates. Time will tell and he's a miss, the 2025 QB needs to be a hit.

Moping is finding negativity when there isnt any to find, not pointing out negativity when it is there, but others don't want to hear it...

Slurping... always seeing the glass is half full, even when it is filled with ****.

Bully slurping is serving the **** to others and getting mad when they won't drink it... because it's ****...

We are 3-0. Looked solid doing it, with room to improve and heal up.

What is there to be negative about heading into Temple?

OP is moping about mopes…
I really like how we got:

1) A short week for Bethune, so we didn't get the time to get a big head before our next game;
2) A tune up game;
3) Then, extra time to prepare for Temple;
4) Then, a bye before GT.

We NEED the time to heal the D line. Unlike some prior years, I'm also really excited to see what Shannon the Cannon comes up with when there is additional time to prepare.

If given free reign to do what they want, as Mario has obviously done with Dawson, no other coach on the team has a bigger and more significant effect on the game than the offensive coordinator. Literally, he's the one deciding what plays you're going to use to score the points you need to win the game. A great play caller with the correct personnel for his scheme can be an unstoppable force.

Coach Dawson is an elite offensive mind. He even comes off like a friendly, unassuming guy...I think he'll clean up on the recruiting trail here too. I hope we do whatever it takes to keep him here as long as we can. We're going to win a lot of football games as long as he's around, and hopefully it instills a winning playcalling style and culture that we don't get away from when he does leave. Until then, let's enjoy the ride.

yeah i don't think it's an accident that mario has constantly referenced recruiting when talking about the new offense, even going so far as to openly acknowledge the effect the explosive passing plays have. mario being a master recruiter is the one constant that's followed him around everywhere he's gone; he knows what he's doing and i genuinely wouldn't be surprised if that was *the* biggest factor in his moving in this direction.

Agreed.

We absolutely NEED to heal up on the D line. The high quality depth just isn’t there. We’ve known that, but (un)fortunately (?) it bit us early - may be a blessing in disguise/may be the Achilles heel of the season (but let’s not borrow tomorrow’s trouble today)…

Temple being away is solid as well. I’d have liked to have one more road game against a non-UNC before that stretch, but almost every team has their stretches… that’s what makes the games fun and important.

I'm not talking about game length. I'm talking about offensive plays. It seems to me that offensive plays are down. Obviously, still a small sample size 3 weeks in but I've watched several games where it seems that teams have slowed down a little.
Down 2 plays per team. My point is nobody is changing their offensive philosophy due to the rule change. You disagree?

Living in Houston the fans believe Holgerson runs the offense. That dude can’t run a comb through his hair. He will be gone after this season and UH is talking about hiring Dawson back with the way our season is going.

I think he should continue doing his eval. Stetson Bennett and Mac Jones he was on before bigger schools. If his eval has him in on highly rated guys like Air, kool. But just taking highly rated guys for the sake of it, ends up like Bama right now.

Crazy how the mopes disappear when the product is good... and appear when the product is bad. Maybe, just maybe... some people express objectively what they see.
They didn’t disappear. They are just lurking and waiting to tell everyone they told us so if this goes south at any point.

If they were a "mOPer" they'd be negative now. Because things are going good but they want to mope unconditionary... That's the whole thing right? if they come back when things go south then theyre not wrong. **** went south lol

Love it. I know there was a whole narrative about Mario being the bro style and would never let an OC be true to their style of play but so far that seems to be a false narrative or dare I say, Mario has adjusted and changed? I don’t know and honestly I dont care. I am just happy to see it.

I was def one of those guys that thought Mario would never let us throw the ball downfield. I am so glad he proved me wrong. I'm having more fun with this offense then those Lashlee teams
