Mario Has Been Telling Us…

That’s misleading. He brought in a lot of players and coaches with him. Mario had a rebuild and has shown he takes his time anyway. You don’t have to like it. But you may come to peace with some understanding.
Well, Mario chose not to bring DUDES with him from Oregon but two trash ahs unplayable olinemen and an 87 year old TE! 🤣

I don't understand the people ragging on Mario b/c of how well Cignetti has done... Cignetti is clearly an outlier that has done an insane job and should be appluaded.

I also don't understand the people trying to defend Mario vs Cignetti by saying that Mario had to rebuild... Cignetti didn't have to rebuild b/c it was never built in the first place. He had to build the entire thing with less resources (money, history, recruiting pipelines).

Mario, despite his flubs throughout the first several seasons, did well to build this team and get them to the Championship game in 4 years and deserves credit for that. If finding Curt Cignettis was easy, more teams would have done it by now.

I wouldn’t even say we got outcoached. We just got beat. Our opponent wasn’t a scrub. Mario and his staff did what two staffs we probably would’ve taken in October couldn’t do. They came back vs this team. Multiple times.

Tonight hurts. But I can’t say we lost because of coaching. We adjusted and made it game. You don’t do that being outcoached.
Cig 2 fourth downs on that TD drive vs Mario missing a 50 yarder. Heatherman playing cushion and letting them hold the ball all first half and Dawson’s first half no show. The second half was different but the game was already almost over. We couldn’t ever get back over the hump from the hole we dug.

I will say, I do think tonight has the potential to light an even bigger fire under Mario. It’s clear this one (understandably) hurts quite a bit. Time to come back even better.

Better hit that portal hard ASAP starting tonight.

Going forward yes they got buy in now. But that roster isn’t as expensive as ours was.

I'm guessing it wasn't as expensive as fellow B10 programs as OSU, Michigan, Oregon, StatePenn and perhaps other programs in their conference as well as other national blue blood programs.
So what is your point?
That Cignetti is a better coach than Cristobal?
Just say it already.
But give Mario his due.
He had a nice run with many impressive wins and his kids never quit on him, which has been endemic issue with past UM teams.

…we’re getting better, but we’re not there yet. He wasn’t lying.

Great season and effort by our dudes. Nothing to be ashamed of. Had a chance late to take out a #1, undefeated team, and we fell just short.

Hold your heads high like men do, and let’s go get #6 next season.
Uh yeah we're there but his coaches are not

Honestly pay them and run it back

Seaton, pancake, Rodriguez, McCoy/kinsler, Cantwell

Wilson, Moten, Scott, Lightfoot
With Lowe, scroggins, and whoever steps up as DT3 in rotation

That’s another quality trench group
I believe that everyone is signed for '26.

You didn’t read my other post if this is what you’re saying.

He’s a big part of why he’s not lifting that trophy right now. Also kudos to Mario for getting the team to this point, but Cignetti just won a title in year 2 at INDIANA. There’s no more excuses about needing time
Mark Cuban won a title

For those thinking we take a step forward next year I have some bad news for you haha. Next year will be harder for.us to win then this year. That defense was scary because we had 2 first round picks on the edges. Offense will need to get significantly better next year to keep us moving forward

Wow...you sound exited at the thought.
What a wierd way to say that.
