Mario Cristobal, Your Seat is Officially Lukewarm

One of SMUs penalties even favored them 30 yards.

I don't want to blame the refs or the conference but the deck seems to get stacked higher and higher against us every year.

While our gameplan and execution can certainly be questioned and blamed, the ACC also does whatever it can to make it hard or impossible for us to win conference games.
Brother I’m a beaten house wife but at what point do people call out the acc for controlling flow of a game

I’m going back to watching NXT at least there are hot chicks there. This team is hazardous for my health. See yall next year man

Mario isn't being fired ... not this year or next or the year after. The Columbus gang will keep their boy in there, but the fan base is going to decline significantly as far as game attendance. Life is short, there are too many things to do on a Saturday (+ travel day) for non Miami Dade County fans to travel, book hotels, flights, rental cars etc. Too bad ... not sure where this leaves the UM football program ... as an "also ran" and candidate for the B12 once the next realignment hits? Or basically a G5 program in a weak ACC after that. Glad I was around to experience the glory day games under Dennis and Butch.

I've seen it time and again. Once, attendance falls even more and money for recruits starts to dry up that's really a sign a coach is on his way out. It doesn't matter how entrenched Mario's friends are. It is to the point now where Mario has no excuse for the ******, undisciplined product he's putting on the field.

Stop it …. This bum isn’t going anywhere. Great recruiter , horrible game day coach. We are stuck with him for the long haul. Get used to this misery. 😂😂😂

Despite prior comments in other threads, 100% on board with the refs being ridiculous.

At some point, Mongo needs to publicly berate the officials like Auburn did with the SEC against Georgia.

This was the worst loss - by far - since Mario has been here. Not exactly a low bar to clear too. Brutal loss.

Have no clue if he's in danger of getting fired, but I thought before the season if he doesn't make the playoff this year (and he obviously isn't) that the rest of his time here the program would trend down precipitously. Believe that even more today.

Will say that if his perceived job security is because a select, few rich guys like him, that's not job security. They will either sour on him quickly and directly or slowly and indirectly (stop throwing so much good money after bad).

Just brutal. To those of you who called a spade a spade from the start, tip of the cap to you.

Idk, maybe I still have some hope in the overarching picture, but I think the “Mario leaves and funding is gone” narrative is overblown.

Trump, Bezos, UHealth, Dana White aren’t just going to go away if he gets fired. Sure the Columbus guys might get upset, but powerful figures love attention and publicity. I guarantee they’re back in the saddle pretty quickly after.
There’s a certain coach in Oxford who seemingly every week gets attention and publicity. He also has a pretty sick offense too.

Could lose out and go 4-8 next season. He’d be here for 2027, lol.

But the guy sucks. All the rah rah’ing after Stanford was expected, because we have a lot of clowns on this board. I’ve been out since Syracuse last season personally, but nothing else needs to be said/done. Idc about recruiting or any of that, why should I? We can’t win with this roster so what does it matter? Dude’s a bum. I hope some of ya’ll see it now.
His biggest flaw is playing bully ball. He is blinded by the desire to be tuff... Last year he needed Cam to carry the team so the offense was open to him.. This year he felt safe with the defense and the cuffs went on the offense.

Next week should have been a restful game for the starters. The stands will be empty now...

Good.

Don’t tempt me with a good time, señor.

I’m one of the OG Lane train slurpers. Never left. Withheld banter and clowning and rage from random slurpers that were offended someone could be viewed as a better HC than the lord and savior Cristobal himself.

His offense will recruit itself.

He didn’t trust Beck and for good reason.
stop. You have to go for the win. Even if you have to try to kick a 50+ yd field goal.

You paid a fortune for Beck - give him a shot.
The playcalling in OT was pathetic. Everyone in the stadium knew exactly what was coming - another run up the middle. The pressure on 3rd down was unnecessary

The depressing thing is that even after his scared, conservative coaching cost his team 2 wins and any chance at winning anything meaningful this year, he’ll still coach exactly the same, boring way rest of the year. There will never be any “opening up” of the offense, no major changes to player rotations, no ramping up the aggression in in-game play calling, ect. I have given up on him ever changing or winning anything meaningful, unless he can somehow acquire GREATER talent then our 2001 team

Should have got Mendoza.
Maybe, but Mendoza is still handing it off on 3rd and 3 and 4th and 1 inside zone or under center with condensed formations.

Mendoza is throwing bubble screens into outnumbered bunch sets just to force feed players the ball.

The difference is Cig plays to murder teams by 40 from the get-go.

The funny thing is Mario is going to look at this result and just tell himself "if we didn't have 2 INTs we would have won".... And just lean more into the bs
i doubt it. I just listened to him with Joe Rose in the post game and he sounded pretty down. Never actually heard him speak with that tone before...
