On Lofton: “You’re starting to see some of the things that we’ve always seen in practice. He’s a really tough, hard-working, physical, athletic guy. Again, I’m not even going to bother praising him because you’ve seen him in practice. He’s getting better. He doesn’t care about all that other stuff. He wants to kick butt, get better and win football games. So I’m really, really proud and happy he’s on our team.”

Lofton has a major opportunity to shine if teams continue to bracket Mali.

That leaves barkate 1v1 and Lofton to run free against LB’s

He’s definitely showing out this year and we needed him. Glad it’s finally coming together for him.

He has come on strong and is being utilized how he should be. He isn’t a downfield threat at all and that’s okay. He is what he is. You get him the rock underneath with a little bit of space and let him come downhill with some steam and punish tacklers with his forward lean. His blocking is also night/day from last year. Props to him and Coach Viti, I like it.

Since we lost Josh Moore for the year, maybe Lofton can be that safety valve after Toney, barkate, and even Upshaw. Lofton is physical, can catch and run, and can do everything as a TE, blocking receiver type. Hopefully we can get more out of Jacobs and Wingo too against the better teams.

You've become an elite level troll sir & I respect it.

Lofton has been good for us & looks to be more reliable which is what we've desperately needed at that position.

His blocking has been elite this szn. Huge props to him. Thats the type of blocking you see from a 260 lb TE.

Wish he was more a passing threat in the intermediate game, 10-20 yard range. Seems a little stiff in his routes.

But if he blocks the way he has been doing, I wont complain.

Now imagine if he had Arch Manning throwing him the ball

Mensah was so close to connecting with lofton down the field vs wake.

Lofton was so close to 135 yard type of day with two td..

You don’t often see an offensive player initiate then lift a defensive player all the way up off the ground after contact .

Lofton has done that at least twice this year.

You can tell he’s lighter, stronger and healthier this year

This. There was a sentiment on this board that we should run 4 WRs more often and leave Lofton on the bench. Never was a huge fan of that because of how versatile Lofton is for the pass game and for the run game.

Lofton is showing what a lot of us were hoping for - a great outlet for Mensah to have in the (mostly) short and mid passing game. He's not an elite athlete/runner like Arroyo was but he can do a lot of things well, which is great for an offense.
