Mario Blames Dawson [for not calling a kneel down]

He's right. 247's "everything Mario said" does not have what you all are saying. He gave a generic "WE should have taken a knee" without naming persons and particulars...
...they asked Richt on one of the post-mortem shows and he said there is a staff member that keeps track of time and timeouts and victory formation issues who should have the paygrade and expertise to blurt out what needs to be done, or at least uncertainty so a TO can be called to assess... THAT GUY failed and should be relieved of his duties. Others (Mario/Dawson...)are human and didnt catch it, but yes SHOULD HAVE. (Not sure its fireable., IMHO.)
I dont buy that's what Mario was saying, and if it was....holy ****. He's talking about Dawson.

If that’s a real quote, and not in some other context, it’s horrific leadership by any measure. Even if Dawson is calling the plays, Mario can and has stepped in to call timeouts or override situations. He tried to do it in this very game on a defensive play.

Anything other than ‘that’s an unconscionable mistake and the worst I’ve made since I already made this mistake in 2018; I’m sorry to everyone I let down, mainly the players who trust me’ is insufficient.

There was so much bad coaching and preparation tonight that only a time management error that absurd could have taken the cake. I hope he fully owns it.

It depends how you read it or want to interpret the quote. The full context of the quote he doesn’t directly blame anyone. Says something along the lines of the moving the pile well and having a good drive going. We get carried away and I should’ve stepped in and said take a knee.

For all of us beyond ****ed over this, it’s a shot at Dawson.

I really think it was meant in the sense they wanted to keep moving the ball and there was a major oversight in not kneeing the ball. Almost like how many ways can you answer the same question.

I’m not trying to defend Mario’s comments in slightest. Just trying to interpret this as unbiased as possible.

Honestly I don’t even care. Your team off a bye week was in a dog fight at home with a team that lost to bowling ******* green. If you did your job you would never be asked this question.

Coaches were on the road recruiting for most of that time, and I honestly think that is part of why we looked so bad.

The way this program has gone the last 20 years, you have got to think the season totally unravels from here.

The coaching staff just lost the confidence of the players by having the rug pulled right from under them.

Let’s not forget Kam giving up that TD. How do you let someone get behind you on the last play of the game.

We are a dumb team lead by a dumber head coach

That was dumb football by Kam and he did a ton of that last year as well.

I call it selfish play. Play your role, you've got 10 guys in front of you that can get to the QB that's scrambling. You play the back end, stay there, play your position. Instead he came up thinking he was going to run it, therfore letting Leary run past him. Know your ******* role and play it.

Just as bad was Couch on the previous play. He got cute and tried to go for the INT. That was an easy pass breakup play, but he got selfish.

Dumb end on so many levels. So very us, so Miami.

This whole **** show is so unforgivable. They all should be fired on the spot and never work again in coaching. I REALLY think it’s that egregious. The incompetence is unlike anything I’ve ever witnessed, in all my years.
I’m surprised Mario even realized he lost the game.
I’m sure all the recruits in attendance tonight are impressed.

Dear Mario

1) what a *****. What do you expect from a guy with such prominent man *****
2) Dawson can go. Truly pathetic plan for that game. Our playbook was as diverse as Miami of Ohio game. Terrible creativity run or pass
3) how expensive is it to teach Mario how to do basic math??

Mops looking for who to blame and blaming the wrong person. If Chaney didn’t fumble the ball, we win and no one talks about Miami not taking a knee. Simple.

Mario allowed Dawson to do his job…call plays. Is this not what we all asked Mario to do. He did what we asked, but we hang him because Chaney fumbled.

Some of you guys are nuts.
