Not mad don't care to be honest I just think flying banners is stupid being outspoken about a coach u don't want is fine but flying a banner give me a break
The irony about the banners is all you Butch supporters forget a banner flew against him
No, they remember. The BBB crowd falls into 1 of 2 categories ... Guys who still think it's 1995, and guys who were too young to really enjoy when Miami was good, so all they have is 2000 and 2001.
Both groups have the inability to let go of the past.
Pretty much.
I think Mario would bring a ton of questions, but I think he would get the majority of the recruits he wants. The coaches and players have spoken, plus he can also use the I learned whatever from Saban card. I actually think he would do a better recruiting job than Butch at this point.
Can he coach and form a successful staff? That's my hesitation at this point.
I almost hope he gets hired at this point. The amount of **** talked about him by this fanbase is epic. I'm by no means excusing him at FIU, but toss Saban or Meyer in there I'd predict no more than an extra win or two.
If there was ever any doubt, this sanctimonious nerd just proved he's no fan of this program. He wants to see Mario get hired so he can laugh while UM dies. Not surprised though considering the nerd admitted he's an FSU fan. Only a guy who doesn't care could claim to be a UM and FSU fan.
Please provide where I ever said I was an FSU fan. I'll pay you a thousand bucks if you can. Come on loudmouth, get paid. Same goes for anyone else that steps up to the plate here. Nerd ***, please....you spend how much time here with your silly *** act?
The point is this, all the dumbasses talking **** about a former player due to a win / loss record at FIU don't know if he can coach since nobody has done much at FIU. IMO, it was a dumb job to take, but the money I'm sure was the best he ever made to that point and reportedly him and Pete were close. I like the fact he had the balls to take the challenge.
Nobody has won there or even come within three wins of his best season, 8 wins.
Nobody has come within two of his second best season, 7 wins.
Nobody else has taken them to a bowl, let alone a winning season there.
It's a dumpster fire of a job. Even the best, a Saban or Meyer would be lucky my to get an extra win or two there. That's my opinion and perhaps I'm wrong on it.
Fact, coaches and recruits have a high opinion of him, so yes, I think he'd get the lionshare of whomever he targeted. Would he target the right guys, who knows. Butch sure did here, I'm not so sure he did at UNC though since he did have NFL draft picks, they didn't win like they had as many on the team as he did. Did they get the Butch bonus because of what he did here or what since at the next level they never panned out mostly.
Yes, the rest of the staff gets more face time with recruits and that's part of what I was saying when I wonder if he could assemble a successful staff. Since I don't know the answer to that, it's a concern of mine. If I was part of the hiring process, I'd know what he had in mind.
See, that's part of the problem with this board and others as well. Everyone has so little information to go off of, but that doesn't stop people from forming very strong opinions based on very little information. The meltdown would be epic if he was hired and it'd be entertaining to watch. He would be selected by a group it appears who he impressed the **** out of somehow or quite possibly we struck out on everyone else. In the end, we probably will never know who they targeted, what made us move on, etc.
Fact, I was calling for Kehoe to be gone well before pretty much everyone under Coker. I was one of the first to say he should be gone. I said Shannon was a bad hire from day one and Meyer would be the better of the two, arguing like crazy with pretty much everyone about it. I said you don't hire a member of a failed staff and all most of you said (Fran as Burt was one of them) was the country club atmosphere would be gone with Shannon.
Golden came aboard and you jokers kept saying how he made the worst school in football respectable. Dumbasses were quoting Tom Lemming who tabbed him some ace recruiter and I called those out on how he was always said to be clueless....just some dumb former mailman. While I called his record b.s. from the jump, we had people hanging on hoping he would be the guy. I knew he was a joke of a hire, we stole the Temple coach.
Bottom line, there's so many people who talk out of both sides of their mouth. It's amazing how so many think and act like they know whatever based on limited information. I know FIU is a joke, Mario did them better than his predecessor and he who followed him by a lot. I know he's got a lot of support from the lifeblood of the program. I don't get to sit in on things, so yes, I'd have questions. You guys just look at him and call him Cuban Al. Clueless and classless, it's almost a prerequisite here. ****, we had people calling the new pres a spick who would dismantle the football program for soccer, but when he went to bat against Duke, you had an about face and the **** riding began.
We had some say emphatically that the powers that be don't care about football, now they're reportedly ready to offer a top 20 salary. If that happens, all you know nothing's will be wrong yet again. I have said I wondered if they cared anymore, in particular when they didn't fire Al last season. I always said I didn't know the contract details, so who knows.
Wasted enough time on this, but the insults to people about opinions and the general lies some try and make up, it's funny and sad at the same time. The dumb personalities people take, the idea that this is amateur comedy hour, it's dragged this site down the tubes. The more let it go and I wonder if it'll rise from the ashes or not. I imagine some will pout like they did at Grassy and take their ball going elsewhere if that happens.
