Mario Banner

Just when I think this lowlife scum sucking fan base of ours couldn't stoop any lower, they do something like tearing down a fellow Cane by pointing out facts about his record at FIU. How could you do this to Mario? What kind of fans tell the world about the record of a potential hire. No one good could want this

Mario Bob's record at FIU some kind of **** secret ? whats your problem ? go change your tampon

I think he's being sarcastic..

If this is real... You guys deserve the coach you get.

Miami wasn't a top notch place for coaches last time around and because of idiots like this its going to be even less of place that any coach in America would want to come to.

This delusion that every coach wants to come here is a joke. FN Larry Scott will likely turn the job down if offered.

The only guy who really seems to want it is a 64 old coach who couldn't get hired by a high school team and who will not get hired.

The Miami fanbase has a higher % of LDs than the FSU football team. Really not sure why those guys are not rooting for FSU... would just make more sense.

If something like this stops us from locking up recruiting this time around you very well could have just ended any chance of Miami being significant again.

Couldnt agree more. Many of our fans are delusional

**** Cristobal and his back alley attempts to get his name mentioned for a job that is so far out of his reach.

Fly the ******* banner because we as supporters of this University and football team need to make it known that hiring a Sun Belt failure will not be tolerated or supported.

Lol. Interesting how you jump from "you guys deserve..." blah blah blah to "if this stops us..." blah blah blah

Seriously, go take your bipolar meds and go back to whatever Gator board you came from

Not mad don't care to be honest I just think flying banners is stupid being outspoken about a coach u don't want is fine but flying a banner give me a break

The irony about the banners is all you Butch supporters forget a banner flew against him

No, they remember. The BBB crowd falls into 1 of 2 categories ... Guys who still think it's 1995, and guys who were too young to really enjoy when Miami was good, so all they have is 2000 and 2001.

Both groups have the inability to let go of the past.

Pretty much.

I think Mario would bring a ton of questions, but I think he would get the majority of the recruits he wants. The coaches and players have spoken, plus he can also use the I learned whatever from Saban card. I actually think he would do a better recruiting job than Butch at this point.

Can he coach and form a successful staff? That's my hesitation at this point.

I almost hope he gets hired at this point. The amount of **** talked about him by this fanbase is epic. I'm by no means excusing him at FIU, but toss Saban or Meyer in there I'd predict no more than an extra win or two.

If there was ever any doubt, this sanctimonious nerd just proved he's no fan of this program. He wants to see Mario get hired so he can laugh while UM dies. Not surprised though considering the nerd admitted he's an FSU fan. Only a guy who doesn't care could claim to be a UM and FSU fan.

Please provide where I ever said I was an FSU fan. I'll pay you a thousand bucks if you can. Come on loudmouth, get paid. Same goes for anyone else that steps up to the plate here. Nerd ***, please....you spend how much time here with your silly *** act?

The point is this, all the dumbasses talking **** about a former player due to a win / loss record at FIU don't know if he can coach since nobody has done much at FIU. IMO, it was a dumb job to take, but the money I'm sure was the best he ever made to that point and reportedly him and Pete were close. I like the fact he had the balls to take the challenge.

Nobody has won there or even come within three wins of his best season, 8 wins.

Nobody has come within two of his second best season, 7 wins.

Nobody else has taken them to a bowl, let alone a winning season there.

It's a dumpster fire of a job. Even the best, a Saban or Meyer would be lucky my to get an extra win or two there. That's my opinion and perhaps I'm wrong on it.

Fact, coaches and recruits have a high opinion of him, so yes, I think he'd get the lionshare of whomever he targeted. Would he target the right guys, who knows. Butch sure did here, I'm not so sure he did at UNC though since he did have NFL draft picks, they didn't win like they had as many on the team as he did. Did they get the Butch bonus because of what he did here or what since at the next level they never panned out mostly.

Yes, the rest of the staff gets more face time with recruits and that's part of what I was saying when I wonder if he could assemble a successful staff. Since I don't know the answer to that, it's a concern of mine. If I was part of the hiring process, I'd know what he had in mind.

See, that's part of the problem with this board and others as well. Everyone has so little information to go off of, but that doesn't stop people from forming very strong opinions based on very little information. The meltdown would be epic if he was hired and it'd be entertaining to watch. He would be selected by a group it appears who he impressed the **** out of somehow or quite possibly we struck out on everyone else. In the end, we probably will never know who they targeted, what made us move on, etc.

Fact, I was calling for Kehoe to be gone well before pretty much everyone under Coker. I was one of the first to say he should be gone. I said Shannon was a bad hire from day one and Meyer would be the better of the two, arguing like crazy with pretty much everyone about it. I said you don't hire a member of a failed staff and all most of you said (Fran as Burt was one of them) was the country club atmosphere would be gone with Shannon.

Golden came aboard and you jokers kept saying how he made the worst school in football respectable. Dumbasses were quoting Tom Lemming who tabbed him some ace recruiter and I called those out on how he was always said to be clueless....just some dumb former mailman. While I called his record b.s. from the jump, we had people hanging on hoping he would be the guy. I knew he was a joke of a hire, we stole the Temple coach.

Bottom line, there's so many people who talk out of both sides of their mouth. It's amazing how so many think and act like they know whatever based on limited information. I know FIU is a joke, Mario did them better than his predecessor and he who followed him by a lot. I know he's got a lot of support from the lifeblood of the program. I don't get to sit in on things, so yes, I'd have questions. You guys just look at him and call him Cuban Al. Clueless and classless, it's almost a prerequisite here. ****, we had people calling the new pres a spick who would dismantle the football program for soccer, but when he went to bat against Duke, you had an about face and the **** riding began.

We had some say emphatically that the powers that be don't care about football, now they're reportedly ready to offer a top 20 salary. If that happens, all you know nothing's will be wrong yet again. I have said I wondered if they cared anymore, in particular when they didn't fire Al last season. I always said I didn't know the contract details, so who knows.

Wasted enough time on this, but the insults to people about opinions and the general lies some try and make up, it's funny and sad at the same time. The dumb personalities people take, the idea that this is amateur comedy hour, it's dragged this site down the tubes. The more let it go and I wonder if it'll rise from the ashes or not. I imagine some will pout like they did at Grassy and take their ball going elsewhere if that happens.

This thread is gold.

Apparently some people REALLY DO BELIEVE that Mario paid coaches to throw his name put there. He had the foresight to know who was going to be interviewed because he paid the reporter even more money to write the story and gave him a roadmap of who to call. He took it one step further and singled out recruits to drop his name as well.

****, if that's all true and I'll go with groupthink on this, this is the guy we want. He's a ******* genius, pulled it off, and the real story is only message board posters know the truth. What a movie this will make if the truth ever comes out.

Banners, I've always said spend your money how you want. I said well before anyone to hit the administration where it hurts, their wallet. While most of you were rushing to get to All Canes for the new shipment of Fear the Tie shirts, dumbest slogan ever created and I said as much at the time, I was saying how I wouldn't spend a dime in support. Last Miami anything I bought was during the Shannon era and for good reason.

Still, the buffoons talking a big game were in support of the same administration (as well as the coaches until all but the blind saw we hired the wrong guy) they roast daily now. Hypocrisy, it abounds here. Lack of attendance, money rolling in from various sources, and a dismal by most standards win / loss record got Al canned. Same as Shannon before. Banners were just some icing on the cake. Same with message board antics, letters, calls, and emails.

It's funny to see people trying to call out Blake on his comments prior to Golden getting the boot. He had a buyout and while he was the AD, he didn't have the go ahead to fire him even if he wanted. He just gave meaningless words to anyone who asked, knowing where we stood since he was on the inside. Surely some of you are smart enough to understand how this works, but apparently not.

It's hysterical how some bash Mario for jumping ship. When that happened, some were bent out of shape about it. Some however saw it for what it was. It was like working for Yugo (Golden) and getting an opportunity to move to Ferrari (Saban). Even better, you're getting a significant raise. Heck, some of us knew Golden was a joke and some commented how after two weeks he saw enough to know to get as far away from Golden as possible.

The crowning jewel of it all, what makes this thread pure gold....giving Mario crap for getting out when he could and making a smart business decision, you give Botch a pass for doing us just as dirty. Hysterical and completely hypocritical as always. Jesus, some people here really are a piece of work.

Please down vote. If you vote the wrong way, please apologize later....how *** is it that someone actually apologizes for that? Toss any cute words or phrases my way....I can truthfully handle it. Potato, apocryphal, the dumb movie slogan people used forever, slurper, call me shook, rustled, or whatever. It's funny as **** how someone starts that and like a bunch of followers you all start using it. Lame.

Mario's family, friends, and close acquaintances coming out da woodwerks in this thread.

****** city. Anyone defending Mario in any way, shape or form needs to go root for another team.

Fk Wario and I'm glad to see my donation put to use.

Great job! The banner clearly stated we don't want Wario or any other cheap and easy corch. We need a real coach and some of you fkers should be just as tired of losing as the rest of us. It's been over a fkin decade since we've been relevant and it's because we trusted this dumbass administration to do the right thing.

People like you are why our fanbase is looked at as the worst in the country.

Honestly why would any coach want to come here.

Awww boo hoo we have such bad, mean fans no one will ever love us.

How pathetic are you, as a man? It's simple, great coaches with confidence who Miami opens up its wallets for will come here.

Wait and see.

Honestly, next time you think of posting something so ****ing stupid, just stop and go **** your own face. IF there's a mealy mouthed, yellow bellied cowardly CORCH who wouldn't want to come because of a ****ING BANNER, why would you want him??!? For ****s sake, you think we might have persuaded Golden not to come with banners? And if so, would you have supported them THEN??? Do you think Saban or Urban Da Gawd have a single **** to give about banners? Do you wonder why???

You seem real tough behind a keyboard tough guy
Really? A few obscenities seems "real tough"? Gtfoh

I bet you idiots actually think the banners helped get Golden fired too.

No, it was Blake, who assured everyone Golden would not be fired after losing to Clemson.

You're logic is impeccable.

Of course he did. Do you not know how PR works?

You actually think the banners had an influence? The only reason Golden isnt still standing on the sideline is the 58-0 embarrassment on national TV. If we lose that game even in the same fashion as the UNC game dude is still on the sideline.

The banners do nothing but make us look like idiots.

LOL at this dude thinking a banner is what makes him look like an idiot.

Didn't read a word of that uniboner manifesto. You're an admitted FSU fan who wants UM to hire a devout failure, Mario, just so you can laugh about it. You admitted all that, so your opinions are useless to me.

On top of being an admitted FSU fan and openly rooting for UM to hire Mario because you'd rather laugh at passionate UM fans than see UM hire a great HC, you made the stupidest post in the history of a board clogged with guys like broke, who think 2+2=rhinoceros.

So, in conclusion, I'm not gonna take the time to read a 10,000 word tribute to your own inferiority.
