Don't you think we'll adjust some things schematically with robinson as db coach? More bump n run? Things he's learned under muschamp? I have to believe he'd pick robinsons ear about SOME changes.

I’ve always said there’ll be tweaks in the scheme if we keep the defense. I already knew BB was done calling plays but there’s enough evidence to see there needs to be some things altered. More man and more discipline , gap integrity on the dl. We have physical press style cb’s that don’t put their hands on wr’s. Well T Rob coaches man.

think logically -- he was kept bc we didn't pay him to leave. we put him in a spot where he doesn't do anything but collect a check. he won't be recruiting anyways as Cooney will run it off field

I was truly looking forward to Manny reflecting on himself and his philosophy and doing what is best for this program to take that next step. Guess I was a fool to think that, Miami gonna Miami.

Having your buddy be the DC SOLELY in title after a season in which he 1. couldnt recruit and 2. gave up the most yds in a game in SCHOOL HISTORY is spineless, weak, uninspired, and just lazy. You are essentially allowing him to steal money. That’s not even to mention having Rumph stay on the recruiting staff (???) which, to quote the great Patches O’Houlihan, is about as useful as a cōck-flavored lollipop.

Ok so the folks mad at DVD being Promoted. Who on this defensive side other than T Rob can recruit? If Manny couldn't get anybody he wanted we almost had to promote DVD he's the only guy that has even a pulse on the recruiting trail.

DVD isnt controlling the room nor is he actually making decisions. hes an on field recruiter. its T-robs show and thats it. you guys just focus. on titles without actually considering everything else.

Blake Baker not calling plays is a win though. Kinda feel like a man dying of thirst in the desert and finding water that doesn't taste very good. Obviously things could be better but at least there is some relief.

Couple comments.

1. Doesnt jimbo call the offense for A&M and he's the HC. They did pretty well this year.

2. If this is the approach I dont see why you just don't make TRob a Co-DC

3. Rumphs recruiting role is probably more centered around identifying talent not recruiting it.

4. Defense and d line should be much improved. Better defensive line coaching should lead to marginally better LB play.

5. I dont have as big of an issue with Patke as strikers have looked decent. Maybe just focus on kick returns this year. Stevenson should fix the catching on punts

6. Maybe baker can focus more on ILB so they aren't **** **** year

7. Trob was named DB coach, so this is pretty much DVD being an assistant DB coach and allowing him to get in recruits homes. Dont love it, don't hate it.

8. Manny calling plays is better than 90% of what we could've had. Scheme still in question

I'm not ready to say this will fail. It may but we were better with our dline being more gap sound and I feel like robinson will have a good influence on what we do in the secondary. The linebackers is my concern.

It’s not the calling the game as a head coach , it’s keeping the guy that failed at , while paying him dc money.
