NOPE.Could this be a budget thing? Maybe they don't have the money for a big time DC. Just trying to make sense of this bull****.
maybe he'll just have a desk job.So Runph is removed because he can’t recruit, Coach, or develop relationships in South Florida, but he is assigned to recruiting? WTF
I hear you but I maybe isn't anymore than finding film on HS kids and breaking it down and doing some Evals. I don't see him part of the actual recruiting process of these kids. Could be dead wrong thoughI know there’s one prominent player who’s a big Rumph guy. This is 100% political. The dude is in the recruiting dept lol. Let me repeat “ he’s in the recruiting dept”. This is as comical as paying a dc 500 k + to chill on game days. Unreal.
That makes sense, but he should’ve fired him and took over himself. Baker shouldn’t be employedTo me this reeks of money.
We took a giant financial hit with Covid and that wasn’t the money to fire a $500,000 coach and bring in another one at $1-1.5 million.
From day one I said the school has plenty of money to pay top coaches. But I think this season is the exception.
Yes, how do you fire a person without actually firing them. You get his/her subordinates to be their boss, and they will probably leave on their own.Wait so rumph and dvd swapped roles lol ??
Silver lining, if we see it, more influential people see this as well. And with that, Manny didn't really make the necessary moves that should've afforded him another year. From public perspective, Manny just pushed all of his chips on the table, and at the moment, Manny has a very low hand.oh well, since Manny decided to go this route...he may have just made the biggest mistake of his career holding Baker as a DC. I though he had some momentum, after the improvements he made last off season.
Heres to looking forward to next off-season.
He couldn't get a desk to come to Miami.maybe he'll just have a desk job.
This bothers me because I have to wonder if it's a systemic problem given that the kind of breakdown we had against UNC has happened to Manny before. We had some great games when Manny was handling the defense himself, but I can't get the memory of the disaster at Texas which cost Manny his job there. There might be something in Manny's philosophy and system which leads to such episodic disasters. I would have liked to see Manny hire somebody from the outside who subscribes to the basic philosophy of a pressure defense (which JJ firist introduced to the U, and college football in the mid-80's). Manny subscribes to that philosophy but in its implementation, it seems to have the possibility of a large breakdown in certain situations. It happened to Manny at Texas and Manny and Baker in the UNC game.Smh. What are we doing ??? 800 yards and he’s allowed to stay ????
Miami used to have higher standards than this. Who are we, Iowa?9 plus a bowl win
Do we now play find the wins? Lol9 plus a bowl win
I kind of feel the same way. It's not what I wanted but it's going to work or Manny's head coaching career will crash and burn. I have a feeling they couldn't get anybody worth hiring to sniff the job.Ey, I respect it. I don't like it. But I can admire him for basically saying If I go down, it's gonna be on my own terms.
It's probably going to cost him his job and he only arrived here bc he was rebuffed by the guys he offered...
But I respect it.
