Manny & the Recruiting Process (formerly Earl Little Jr 1.0)

Predictable Manny would attempt to right the wrong in the short term. Would love for increased communication with top recruits in the longterm. Thankfully, Sr. mentioned this and it blew up. Hopefully Manny learned a lesson and watched the relevant parts of the interview. DVD communicating with the parents is great, but Manny is head honcho.

While we are among the top 3 for ***ans and Rodgers, they could commit to UGA and Ole Miss at the drop of a hat.
Manny is trash

people just have to blame someone bc a kid has no interest in staying home. most kids want to get away and this one seems like it. glad the staff realized it early on and aren't gonna waste an entire cycle chasing someone who doesn't want to be chased. its going after dudes who don't want to be home at all that gets us in trouble.

the excuse before was the CB coach cant recruit. we now have a stud recruiter and developer at CB coach and a better d staff. kid wants to be gone. other options out there and find those and recruit those
It’s a year before NsD, this kid is a legacy and we just hired a rock star DB coach, amd people are already saying sour grapes, he ain’t was never clming no how. Why not try to recruit him and see if we can change his mind?

Didn’t they fly up to Connecticut and meet with him at the prep school? And they had him meet with academic advisors to figure out his school situation.

This was happening when CIS knew for months he was trolling us. I don’t think he showed any class when he committed to bama either given the lengths they went for him. Just embarrassing.
Yep. And the staff ‘was confident’ lulz.

bc he doesnt want to come here. every insider on earth (including the ones here) have said hes all in on leaving. some kids wont have their minds changed and legacies doesnt matter much anymore imo. we've seen more and more kids are paving their own path separate from their parents

Really? All I've seen is an emotional over-reaction to some quotes by his dad. Perhaps the best connected insider on this site seemed to think just a few weeks ago that hiring T Rob would sew Little up for us. A bunch of people are backing off the situation but the truth is, no one knows. It's typical of 'insiders' to avoid predictions that will look bad in hindsight, so expressing caution right now is par for the course. But I have yet to see someone say that the kid isn't willing to consider UM. All I've read or heard is he's been really well recruited by Saban and that's out there as a mark for us to compete against.

Do you really think our coaches don’t know exactly where they stand with this kid?

What “people” say here is irrelevant to what’s occurring. The reality is you can only recruit a kid who wants to be recruited.

Why in the world would anyone assume our staff knows 'exactly where they stand with this kid'???????????????????????????????????????????????

Mike Rumph didn't know 'exactly where he stood' with his own Godson. Manny was his DC.

Our coaching staffs have known less about where they stand with some kids than many posters on this board over the years.

What I'm used to seeing is a bunch of uninformed fans who want to sound smart claiming the staff knows everything, kinda always. And they rarely do. It's all just a spin to defend whatever it seems like they're doing, usually without the people claiming this even knowing what they're actually doing. Manny can't talk about Little in any case. Not sure why you assume you know that he doesn't have a chance, know that he knows it, and assume he's given up.

You know that's total nonsense.
Why do you think it's nonsense? It's literally the point that set off this discussion. Don't come back with some semantics - this isn't about whether manny has ever communicated or not. That's silly.

Let's take it at face value. Saban's made personal communication a priority with this kid, and Manny hasn't. Half this board thinks that's purposeful on Manny's part. Maybe it is. But then they're basically agreeing with the post you call nonsense.
