Manny on Joe Rose tomorrow 7am

If the OC is truly gone, then the new OC has the say on who stays in this staff. A good HC can make recommendations, but it is up to the OC to pick the guys he wants for his scheme. Fields and Hickson could have a chance of staying because of their recruiting (if it is in fact good as some may think) and Stubblefield because of his technique, but at the end of the day the OC will decide.

Respect the take but no way Manny should let another OC have that much power again. He needs to learn his lesson. He gave Enos the ultimate power of choosing his staff and it failed. No OC has this much power btw. At least not at the top schools. He cant hang his career on another OC choosing his own staff. This is Manny's last shot. No room for error.

He should allow the new OC to evaluate the current guys and if they have a better option, Manny should listen but if he feels the guy in place is better, he should keep him. I like Stubblefield. (WRs got better overall. They had some bad games for stretches but I gotta pin that on Enos)... I like Hickson. (Except how he is doing Lo Lingard. Next time he is interviewed he needs to answer for that in my opinion).... Barry and Fields can go.

If its not enough talent i have bad news for manny you wont bring in better or more talent than what richt brought in!!!
a coach can either coach the talent he has to play above or below their skill level. We've seen what Manny gets out of his players. Does anyone really think the talent is gonna save him?

Guys we arent this stupid, he needs to go but Enos can play the 100 excuses game on why to keep him. Not his QB he tried everything to get another one in, Oline was young and hampered all play calling and developing and wait till Van gets on campus thats my QB. Lets hope he makes the right move fires DC and brings in Strong. If Enos ***** the bed again next season can him and hope Joe Brady is still there and can come take over as OC.

It’s been pretty obvious for a while now that the defense has been sub par. He will never admit that and will always scapegoat the offense anytime he didn’t like what was going on. Like I’ve said many times already, same story, different year coming up.

Not going to give a "War and Peace" writeup like last time but ill say a few things..

*I didn't get the feeling at all that the offensive staff was safe. I did get the feeling that Baker is his "understudy" somewhat and he has no plans on giving up on him or anyone on the defensive. Which makes sense as those are his "posse" as Phil Jackson would say. As soon as he started rambling off defensive stats and analytics numbers I knew everyone on D was safe. (I alluded to this in another thread. The D in the majority of our games played well enough to win. Herm Edwards said it best yesterday after firing his offensive staff. "You don't win games in college football anymore scoring 20-30ppg. You need to score 30+ to give yourself a shot every week". I agree and I hope Manny saw that quote. We scored 27ppg. Enos gotta go)

*Sounded rattled. Didn't sound confident. Knows tough decisions are coming his way and the administration/BOT wants blood. Not sure why its so hard for him to fire this offensive staff when he literally massacred last years staff in one day and didn't blink twice. That's where he got his "Tony Montana" rep from! Now all of a sudden hes gun shy??

*Sounded like he was out recruiting. Ill say this. He is putting ALOT of weight into this 2020 class. I think someone needs to remind him that while this is a solid class, this isn't like the 2008 class that was the #1 ranked class in the country and had talent from top to bottom. This 2020 class isn't going to save us next year like that 2008 class tried to their freshmen year. A lot of these kids need development. There are some studs but there a lot of guys will be redshirting too. Joe Rose was talking about how you cant fire Manny because of the 2020 kids and how you have to keep this class together. I had to listen closely because for a minute there I thought Justin Flowe and Darnell Washington had committed to us in the middle of the night and I missed it! Smh.

*Same BS all in all.

MY PREDICTION: Enos will be fired after the bowl game. He just cant do it now because he literally has no one else on the staff to call plays. (another poster said this and I made fun of his statement but its true.) He fires Enos now and we could actually lose to Liberty or whoever we play. Gotta use him for now. I also think he fires Barry as well. I think Stubblefield is safe. I think everyone on D is safe. I think Fields is on "probation". But even he is expendable. Hickson is safe as he should be. You pull 2 of the top 10 RBs in the country and you keep your job.

Manny isn’t afraid to fire anybody, he’s afraid to admit he was wrong. It was easy to say bye to Richt’s guys and blame them for what went on the year before, but now he can’t hide. All of this is on him. I have a feeling he digs in and doubles down on his staff. I don’t think he can admit he was wrong and that he’s part of the problem

I wouldn't be against firing some guys on D, but I'm not going to hang this season failures at there door. They played well enough for us to win 10 games and kept us in a lot of games when the offense could do absolutely nothing. Including the Duke game where the offense had like 5-6 straight "3 and outs". I am not sure what else we want from them. Nobody ever said they were the "1989/1991 UM defense".

Gotta score points. And a lot of them. Its the way of todays game. Look at LSU and OSU and Bama..you have to be able to score 40+ to beat any of those teams. 30 wont even do it. If that's the mark we are hoping to get to eventually, its been set by them. Starts with making changes on the O side of the ball. If you look at a lot of firings from yesterday as far as assistants go...the majority of them were offensive firings. Coaches know you can only ask so much of your D nowadays..but your offense needs to be high powered. Everyone is following Orgerons blueprint..get yourself a big time OC and you are the King of the Hill in one year.

I agree with your assessment on the defense in that they're not the sole reason our season was ****. But I put the loss to UNC at their door (4th and 17) and think about what our record could've been like had Manny not taken over Blake's job as playcaller on defense. The defense was atrocious for certain parts of the season, as was personnel decisions (letting a walk-on play over Brooks, Patchan playing almost half the year ahead of Rousseau, etc...)

Unfortunately, I don't see Manny doing what Orgeron did. It seems like he's already doubling down on his hires.

Doesn't think there's anything wrong on defense

Sounded like house cleaning may go on with offense but I went to look at D stats and statistically our D looks really good. Lacking in TO (50ish) Red Zone D (50ish) and Defensive TDS. But we are Top 25 in Total D, Tackles for Lose, and Rush D.

Manny looks at stats and I think his boys are safe

And the thing is, if he actually said "****, I hired the wrong OC. I think I need to go to the spread as this would cover a lot of deficiencies we have on offense" then all would be good. There's no rule that says you have to be perfect in your hires.

It would actually get us off his back for a while and help his cause but he's stubborn and thinks he’s way smarter than us (the fans) so if he says that out loud he would be admitting we were right and he was wrong. I just don’t think he’s a big enough man to do that.

Exactly. But like I posted in another thread, Coker and Shannon went through assistants like kleenex in flu season, and it didn't change the fact that they were bad HCs.

Although I agree, at least they were willing to mix it up. With Golden, Richt and now Manny we see that they stick with the status quo when it's clear as day it's not working.

I honestly don't think those guys even know where to find the playbook! Lol. And I agree with you. But you know how Manny thinks, if he can win this bowl game it can give him something to go into the offseason with to hang his hat on. (embarassing to even think this way I know) A 3 game losing streak for yet another season wont bode well at the fundraiser banquets in the offseason.

And to your point, if we play UCF, we are definitely losing that game. I pray we don't land them. To lose to UF, FIU and UCF in the same season would be too embarrassing to bare. The "Big 3" jokes would be too much to take. It would take an undefeated regular season next year for Manny to get that memory out of our heads. So lets hope its La Tech.

If you care about this program you will hope for a bowl loss. We don’t need Blake and Manny parading around showing off a toilet bowl trophy and acting like it was a successful year Bc they beat the only team worse than us that was bowl eligible.

We are not moving in the right direction and we aren’t getting better. Do not give them any opportunity to lie and say we are

Fvck that! I don’t want that weasel sneaking out a victory over LÁ tech and saving his job for another year. This guy isn’t it and you don’t have to be a rocket scientist to figure that out and he deserves no escape paths. Manny deserves to play UCF and get smoked by a real offense, you know a spread offense instead of the 1980s/90s pro set mork richt offense we run. An *** whooping by UCF will probably be the last nail In the coffin for Diaz and get us quicker to the only goal of getting the bum, novice, fraud the Fvck out of here!

We are going to get lit up by UCF. After that game the lynch mob is going to go after him to hang him. Am i aloud to say that?
