Manny Navarro goes HAM on the admin!!!!

Very good article...I've said as well, don't go to the games. Don't buy season tickets. It's the only way our voices can be heard as a fan. Just don't go!

After the fact manny clearly gets his I fo from these websites some of which isn't correct. Who was the assistant under Shannon who bad ae the dc for the lions? Walton just off the top of my head?

Anyway I agree that the administration is part of the problem but why did he wait til now when it's obvious? Guess it doent matter.

Omar just went on with joe this morning and just blasted golden. Good stuff

Omar is a little dopey, but I credit him for having an actual opinion. He came right out and said it's time to fire Folden. No equivocation. The ****** host was trying to make lame excuses, but Omar was having none of it.

Everything is true and he gets some credit for being one of the few in the media with the cojones to put it in writing but the fact that it has to be all written down in one big diatribe after a decade of mediocrity is also an indictment of Manny and all his cohorts. Everything he is complaining about are things the media should have been pointing out and writing about as they were happening. Instead we get a really nice rant 10 years later.

Manny is lazy. Financials are available for UM athletics, including football. I believe UM spends more than every other ACC school other than FSU on football (not counting ND, which also spends more). It wouldn't be hard to check, but I guess that's asking too much of a local reporter.

Supplemental Information
Expenses exceeded Revenues for the year by $2,784,279. The University covered this difference. This figure is included in Total Revenues Not Allocated.

In my view the amount UM spends makes it worse, since the return on investment might just be among the lowest in all of CFB. For reference, FSU spent about $32 million on it's football program during its fiscal year that began in 2013.

Oh my...

That dudes UM Media credentials are toast for sure...

Exactly what I thought. Manny sacks up after a decade of covering this shytshow and it will cost him his credentials for covering THE U. His next piece will be coming to you live from Opa-Locka covering Optimist ball.

The money angle is nice, but it gives Folden another excuse for being a failure. The idiots will read that **** and claim Folden as screwed because UM is too cheap.

I would ask this: who did Folden try to hire that UM told him, "No. He is too expensive."? Does anyone think he brought Dorito here because we couldn't afford a different DC? Or did he bring him here because he was his right hand man, bff, and Assistant HC?

Then, we paid Coley more than he was making at fsu to get him.

The administration and trustees have failed for not demanding excellence. But make no mistake. Folden is still a major league fail all on his own. Nebraska just fired a guy for doing what these clowns would applaud Folden for doing.

We NEED that excuse to convince another school (i.e., Nebraska) that it's not really Golden's fault so they will take him off our hands.

Manny is wrong about the assistant coaching staff budget issues. Just look at the Alabama assistant coaching staff, a couple former fired UM guys (Stoutland left bama for the pros). Since when does Saban hire trash coaches? Most of the bad assistant/coordinators are on staff because the smart ones know the head coaches are terrible. Hire a good HC and the assistants and the good coordinators will follow.

I'm sick of the poor mouth money excuse. The troll raised a lot of money for the school with the help of the athletic department's achievements. Each ACC team received over $20m for fiscal year '13-'14. $20m+ is the same amount as the SEC teams. Al Golden is the problem and the admin hired the fool, they can eat part of cost of making it right with a new coach. At the very least the admin should be held accountable.

The conference shared money issue could be the problem. If the admin thinks they can leach of the ACC without investing in the football program they are underestimating the true cost of mediocrity.

The President killed the golden goose and has really tarnished her legacy by ******** up the "most recognizable brand". The coaching hires under her watch are worse than her AD turnover. Organizational rule #1 turnover = Bad leadership.

Stoutland was top notch assistant. He killed at Bama and rolling with the Eagles right now.

outstanding piece manny!! good job...now lets keep turning the heat up on the fat POS AG and the rest of the ******* dumb assess at miami.

BTW did you all see Auburn fired their DC....just lets you know which schools care and which dont. SMFH we need to riot oops i mean demonstrate passionately on campus

Now with the Marlins paying Stanton and maybe spending more $$$ on other players, Manny "CIS write my stories for me" Navarro is probably going full time marlins next year and figures a parting shot (using CIS as his main source) for all the crap he has dealt with was appropriate.

Admittedly, the local press is more critical than the fawning *** kissers in Tallyhicky, Hogtown and O$Uck town but they went hard on Shapiro and less hard on the AD carousal, incompetent assistants, and HCs without a clue for far too long. Now Manny is trying to save what little "Journalistic Credibility" (an oxymoron) he perceives he possesses.

I don't cut Golden the slack Manny does, but the stuff about the Donna and the administration is all true. But Golden's OC and DC make over 500k each. For unproven chumps that is a lot. Even with administration not caring, all true, Al still had no business losing to any Coastal team.

Dapper: well done.

To translate those tables for the folks, Miami athletics made 5million in profit in one year from men's sports. But it LOST 7 million dollars on women's sports. In other words, you can thank title nine and a bunch of ***** soccer players for not buying out Folden.

Not a particularly good article, but kudos for getting the right sentiment out there. We need to run up the score on Golden.
