What if he wins the super bowl? I still think he should go, but they’ll probably keep him.Don’t see it happening but there’s no chance he’s fired if it actually plays out that way.

@Cribby is the real insider, not me. He seems to know people that matter first hand. Maybe he can tell us how far off this is….
I can tell u that shalala restructured how the AD operates financially, requiring it to generate everything it spends. The AD reimburses the university for scholarships etc . Prior to her it would operate out of the general funds.
This is why Blake James is liked by the BOT… he’s been able to raise enough cash to allow for the department to operate. They BOT hasn’t allowed boosters to pay for buyouts, but obviously they raise money for facilities, like IPF etc, which blake ran.
Frenk has allowed the Athletic Dept to go back to how it previously operated, and can finance some things w general funds. There has also apparently been a decent amount raised by some former players etc, so general funds may not be needed.
I didn’t wanna say it. U probably just spoke it into existence.Stanley Cup and he’s a lock
If you say something with enough snark, condescension, and conviction, you can start to buy your own BS. I have no clue if that is true or not, but unless someone was in some very specific C-suite level meetings, neither do they. I will say at a minimum, it is a completely different scenario with UHealth back then vs today... they make money now, are consolidated into the school's books, more time to digest the acquisition and any debt taken on, don't have an uncertain amount owed to the government, a different president for both the school AND UHealth. This guy is a blowhard. He’s just making shlt up.
There seems to be different ways to finance football. Some universities have foundations, others steal from charities for orphans and cancer patients.Do most schools use general funds for football? It’s crazy that the football program has done so much to raise the profile of the school but there seems to be so little desire to keep it healthy.
If the general fund is fairly large it would seem reasonable to shoot the program a few million as needed to achieve bigger goals.
@Cribby Where does the ACC money go? Ad? General fund? Do you have any idea what Strawley’s role is and is there something tangible she is doing to sabotage the program? From what I understand most sports are in the red and mainly subsidized by mostly football and some revenue from basketball and baseball.

The flip side is their margins and revenues were insane last year and probably the next year they will report due to Covid, but that will go back to normal as Covid either goes away or becomes normalized. The government and insurance companies are not going to continue giving tax credits and/or green lighting high reimbursements forever. So it may be that this is a very temporary or one-off thing, if it even comes to be.
Yes it will team tvd will be beyond ready and before then we'll have the best DC coaching experience then.Another thing to remember about bringing Manny back next year, we play @ Texas A&M in game 2 and @ Clemson on next year's schedule. It is likely not going to be another great start.
.500 and chill. No thanksWe know we know he dropped the games he shouldn't but the youngins was thrown in the fire during that.. now everything is finally starting to click... we all make mistakes that was Manny mistake but he's learning and getting better finally.. how long it took Butch again lol.. but Manny knows now he has to hire a DC moving forward.. but at the end of the day the kids are finally having fun out there and making tackles lmao.. just chill and let this play out..
Keep him kids loves him yall really wanna mess up this south Florida recruiting get out yall feelings and support these kids that's playing their hearts out for they're coach and recruits are noticing that too straight facts..So, if Manny wins regular season out. 8-4.
Faces WF for ACC, and wins. 9-4.
Faces a solid team in a NY6 bowl as ACC champion, 10-4
Sells to BOT, my losses were to two top 3 teams currently, and a game where my Fr QB was essentially making his first start.
10 - 4 ACC Champions, losses to two playoff teams, and Fr QB making first real start.
Hypothetically speaking, yall still want him fired? Think about what those final 6 games entail as well, dont keep your mind on 4-4 thoughts.
Just curios about these answers lol.
That would be a bad, bad look.If that happens and Manny fails again, the humiliation would be even worse. They have to make a change.
The "Football funded everything else" myth has always been there. The Miami Athletic department as is the case with all athletic departments are self contained. They don't have to share a dime unless they decide to. They get to keep every dime they earn. That said, the athletic department does receive some funds from the school, the student athletic fee chief amongst them.So what’s the real story?
I keep hearing so many conflicting statements about how athletics is funded. I have heard for years that when the football program was raking in cash, it got diverted to other areas of the school. Is that just a big myth?
@1mg of Epi @Cribby Could you chime in on this? Does UM even put a real effort into fundraising for athletics? I saw someone say the ad was basically barred from fundraising when other parts of the school were panhandling. When there was real initiative to get the ipf done, it went up quick.
Anyone with any ideas of how all this fits together please respond with what you know or tag other posters in the know. I am sure I am not the only one confused about how these things work, both here and at schools who spend to compete but operate at a loss. Where do they make up the shortfall? Other university funds? Donors? Loans?
Exactly. Money talks bull**** walks. We've been seeing bull**** walk for the past two decades. Until we actually see the headline "Incompetent AD and Head Coach Fired. Competent Proven AD Hired. Competent AD's First Move Hire Proven Competent Head Coach." it's all hot air.Remember that time we thought Golden was going to get fired after he bailed on us trying to back door a deal to PSU b4 they chose Franklin, and then we finished the 2014 season 6-7? Remember all the hoopla about ppl being mad & he was going to be evaluated at the end of the season? U know what happened in 2015? He was the coach.
Listen, I’ve been through this rodeo way too many times. We have a disconnect on the BOT. It’s already been reported multiple times b4 and during Manny’s hire on how influential his dad is on several BOT members. We’ve already heard multiple reports on how there’s a disconnect feel on Blake James.
If Manny wins out, or finishes w/ a 7 game win season, it would not surprise me, ONE IOTA, if he’s still the coach here in 2022. Call me jaded or w/e…one thing I learned is to never get excited w/ a change:
-Shalala retires, we have a shot at the Admiral, but we go w/ a foreign, shirtless selfie king who worked under a crooked administration in Mexico b/c he’s deemed to be “a health expert” who had taught & was a dean at Harvard.
-The now fired AD Shawn Eichorst leaves for Nebraska, u know the same Eichorst that prematurely extended Golden after a 6-6 season; what does Miami do? They hire from w/in a failed AD, hiring a numb nuts, no experience AD to lead our athletics.
Trust me when I say, be shocked if we go contrary to history. I’m not just talking about firing a coach, we’ve done that, mucho times…I’m talking the entire F’ing infrastructure.
Miami’s AD wasn’t self contained until the 00’s. Funds flow from the AD to the GF for costs of each scholly. The "Football funded everything else" myth has always been there. The Miami Athletic department as is the case with all athletic departments are self contained. They don't have to share a dime unless they decide to. They get to keep every dime they earn. That said, the athletic department does receive some funds from the school, the student athletic fee chief amongst them.
The last time Miami consistently funded the department from the general fund was during the 70s, and that almost got the program eliminated because they were hemorrhaging money. As the program climbed and improved, those funds slowly dried up, because the athletic department was assumed to be able to sustain itself, as should be the case. There have been battles over the years in regards to athletics double dipping in regards to donors and the academic side has always bristled at that.
I know I recently read an article about the 19-20 season and the Acc revenue. Each school made over 30 million dollars. That’s just Acc money. That doesn’t include ticket revenue , football donations and merchandise.
So lets just say the Acc revenue is normally in the 15-20 range previous years and that’s before the other revenue the school has made elsewhere. So do y’all think Miami has money for football ? Do you think Miami invests all that money in football ? Does it look like Miami invests that money into the program? The answer has always been in front of your face. As I’ve been saying for awhile “they have plenty of money , they just choose not to spend it on the program”. I’d be willing to bet Miami was in the 50 million range after everything in 19-20.
They’re a private school so they can play the whole “ we’re a small institution and cant spend like other schools”. Yet nobody is asking them to spend like Bama, just spend , have a plan , a direction and find leadership. Rather than hoarding the football money, staring at the checks like Donna Shalala when she received 50 k from Nevin.
The saddest part is they stack the cheese they make from football but never want to put it all back into the program making that money. **** theres people who have doubts their donations even go to football. It took national embarrassment to light a fire under their asses, even though the fans have been saying this for years. Yeah, us toxic fans!!!!
After these 4 games, He has 3 full years to evaluate. Ahmmon Richards last nite “the whole thing needs to be blown up.”I get what you're saying but we'd be 8-4 going into a bowl game, with one of the best young QB's in the nation, young skill guys on O and D, etc. Win the bowl and we're probably preseason top 10-15 going into next season, which happens to be Manny's money year in terms of getting or not getting an extension.
If this were all to transpire, I'd rather tell Blake to kick rocks, hire a competent AD and let him have a full year to evaluate.
It’s played out. The problems go far deeper than hiring a DC. The program can never compete nationally run as it is.We know we know he dropped the games he shouldn't but the youngins was thrown in the fire during that.. now everything is finally starting to click... we all make mistakes that was Manny mistake but he's learning and getting better finally.. how long it took Butch again lol.. but Manny knows now he has to hire a DC moving forward.. but at the end of the day the kids are finally having fun out there and making tackles lmao.. just chill and let this play out..
