Manny (likely) staying (through the end of season, TBD thereafter)

The only thing I took from it was “Money will not be an issue.” Look like Frenk took Herbstreit’s rant personal and is trying to fix it. UHealth will help pay for major renovations, facilities, coaching etc. Navarro did address the $15-$20 Million tag about moving on from Manny and his source again said, money will not be an issue.

Frenk better make good on that promise because if he doesn’t the fan base will come after him next.
UHealth isn't pay for squat. Not even the right color of money and that would get the BoT in a tizzy. Our CIS sleuths are so far out in front of this Navarro is like a junk yard dog looking for a few scraps.

Headline is deceptive. All they said is that they weren’t inclined to fire him during the year and will evaluate after the year is done. Money won’t be an issue.
What every rational fan was assuming. Miami has NEVER fired a coach before ending his 4th season. A mid 3rd season firing is unprecedented.

This better be total bull****. There's a saying about polishing a ****. U can polish it to a shine but at the end of the day its still a ****. Manny is that ****. And no matter how much money they spend to polish him, they'll get the same results.

I think a lot of people would agree that if this is the route they take I won't donate or spend another penny on anything to do with the university. Oh but but but it hurts the students. Fck that. There's no reason to give them money if they're openly stating their intention to waste it.

This needs to be cleared up real quick.

Don’t have the athletic and was only able to read first few paragraphs but is their premise that if you fire him during season you risk losing the talented freshman to the portal but if you wait until after the season they stay?
I do have The Athletic.

You can't imagine my disappointment when I saw who their staff writers were for the Carolina Panthers and the Miami Hurricanes.

..please also note the variety of media they are using. it's a typical damage control process and trying to get out ahead of the situation when in actuality they are still at the gas station trying to put air in the flat tires not realizing all 4 got **** tires have holes in them.

they pull the writers from the local beats. unfortunately, we lost Matt porter to Boston, we lost Christy to UM, and were left with Manny. Barry is a do it all herald nugget guy. Susan LOL

id say if he loses to FSU, hes gone the next day. my personal opinion is they'll wait to fire him after the year to save money and use that towards Mario (I also think we won't hire Mario till the day his buyout drops either).
Why would you can him the next day when that game is in November? I don't think it helps recruiting much. At this point, just let him finish the season, IMO.

my newly informed understanding is that Mario´s buyout increases in January 2021 by $1MM and then decreases the next year, so there is a $1MM incentive to bring Mario in earlier than January

Principle. Losing to that FSU team you should get fired on principle alone. I know they are better than we thought they would be but I dont care. Cant lose that game and think you will make it on the bus home. Esp if we already have lost to either GT or VT or both. Season over. Time to start the relaunch and look for a new AD and HC.

That still gives you all of December, right?

And I am not saying that they won't/shouldn't reach out to potential new candiates through back channels. Just saying I don't get why you would want to fire Manny with 2 games remaining if you know he is gone anyways. That doesn't seem like something this administration would do, and I don't think they should. Let the guy have a chance of landing on his feet somewhere.

Don’t understand why this needed to be put out… cool manny gets two top 25 wins and will be allowed the honor of finishing the season before getting the can

Just shut up and worry about getting the right folks in here

There are articles to inform and articles to instigate. This falls into the latter. It's just drivel intended to provoke outrage and generate clicks. No one cares if the an article says the UM is waiting to see how the next couple of games go before making a decision on Diaz. If it instead insinuates UM is leaning towards retaining Diaz, angry fans will share the article and maybe even subscribe to read the full details. Don't fall for it.

This is 100% fan talk

Agree. Aint no way they would bring this dude back or extend him if the next four games plus a bowl aren't at the very least flawless victories, which is highly unlikely.

I mean, his father was the mayor and has friends on the BOT. They are gonna can him with a few weeks left in the season after he just knocked off top 25 teams 2 weeks in a row?

Some of you guys are weird. Manny is gone. You don't need to protest in his front yard.

Seems Navarro is a little late to the get rid of Manny and Blake party and is trying to catch up. Surely he’s required to provide a certain amount of words for the print addition so this his way of fulfilling his employment requirements by jumping on the fire Manny and Blake bandwagon.

So he survives 8 games and people don't think he'll finish the year ? Lol c'mon people they're obviously gonna let him finish the season, I'm sure his buyout drops after the season cuz UM can't help but save some coin. As long as Blake and Manny are eventually tossed out like yesterday's garbage is all that matters.
