Manny (likely) staying (through the end of season, TBD thereafter)

There’s zero reason to put that out there if you’re actually going to retain Manny Diaz. Ready to invest in football but have recently said “we’re all in” and “we’re all aligned” to begin with.

How are you ready to invest if it doesn’t include firing this bozo and hiring someone else? What’s the investment? Paying Diaz $6 million now and expecting him to coach twice as good as when he made $3 million?

The fact that they are saying no matter what happens these last 4 games they wont fire him until after the season is bad enough IMO. Anything can happen. Its almost as if they are pretty much guaranteeing we at least win 3 out of 4 and maybe all 4.

it said barring a collapse basically. It wasn't no matter what. unless we just implode within a month and everyone wants out, they'll make the move in the offseason given his buyout, his staffs buyouts, and the new money for a coach. they keep throwing 20 mill out there and that number makes sense if the guy is Mario

Yeah but no offense they been saying that since the UVA loss. What is there definition of collapse? Case in point, losing to FSU in any fashion is a collapse to me. Thats fireable.

id say if he loses to FSU, hes gone the next day. my personal opinion is they'll wait to fire him after the year to save money and use that towards Mario (I also think we won't hire Mario till the day his buyout drops either).
 
As I’ve said Manny was dead with a Ncsu loss. He survived that game and Pitt.
I already posted they were giving him a chance until he’s eliminated from the coastal,which got people all in their feels. Him winning the last two games likely insures he’ll make it through the season , minus a really bad loss. You should know how they roll by now. Manny still has a very long road to go until he’s safe. There’s four power five schools left and we know his history. I always said he needed a miracle run.

They did mention what I’ve been posting about the program making changes and supposedly treating this like a big boy program going forward. So there’s that.

Yes, because men's basketball is cooking and Jim can only recruit pygmies who cannot shoot more than 10 feet. Okay, not pygmies but nobody above 6'7". They struggled to beat a D2 team in their exhibition. We were outrebounded 18-2 on the offensive boards. That is not a typo.

We should get a discount double check for canning Diaz and Larranaga in the same academic school year.

This X10000000. There is no reason to say anything at this point. I cant read the article so maybe there are no actual quotes and the writer is just putting an opinion piece out. But for anyone at UM to say anything right at this moment is stupid. WAY too soon.

Im enjoying the ride too but this could all come to a screeching halt come Saturday at 4pm if we lose to GTech and Manny is booed off the field.
