Manny (likely) staying (through the end of season, TBD thereafter)

Dj didn’t say much. Ahmmon was on fire. Anyone wanting to give many another year needs to know what he says:

- practices too easy
- No competition in practices (1s vs 1s)
- Acceptance of mediocrity
- Don’t demand perfection/excellence
- S&C isn’t good enough
- Coaches slow ID talent, slow to trust players
- ****** play calling
- Not nearly enough staff, coaches waste time with BS
- Players don’t do extra work
- Players cheat on their reps
- No player leadership so young guys pick up bad habits
- Losing is OK

He talked about Cager going to UGA and being shocked at the culture, which was everywhere from the AD down to the janitor. Players ALL put in extra work. Anybody who didn’t was ostracized. At Miami, nobody did. He said the 2 schools operated on different levels in every single way, and Miami wasn’t even close.

He talked about the amateurish nature of our program… when he was on crutches, he had to hobble around the campus w no help. Any serious school would’ve taken care of him. Talked about other programs having staff to help the position coaches w bull****, but Miami coaches have to do it themselves which takes away from game planning etc.

His soliton was to blow the whole thing up, fire coaches and AD and build something competitive. This was an elite recent player, talking openly about the state of the program.

Thing is… most of this shlt doesn’t cost a single dime. And still not being done
I've been harping on point #3, acceptance of mediocrity since the end of his first year but I was told I was wrong because unlike his predecessors he had the "guts" to replace underperforming staff, even though that was the politically expedient thing to do.

It is really short sighted. Aren’t these people business people?
My understanding is the main people evaluating the program outside of the BOT are Rudy Fernandez, who is Frenk's chief of staff along with his other confidant who is the CEO of UHealth. Rudy is more of a career bureaucrat than he is a business person.

When I was on crutches at Miami I had to Hobble from the towers to Dooley. Took 30 min. Where’s my help lol

People talking about 10-4 are the same people who think Santa Claus is real

At this point - if we are getting a new coach in 22 - the AD better go pretty quick. They are not gonna fire Manny before Blake. As I said before - no program does that. Gotta get the new AD in place first - and let them put their own stamp on the program. A new coach is just not gonna be hired prior to an AD. It’s also fairly rare (as far as I know) for a new AD to come in and clean house on day 1 without even personally evaluating the situation. That’s why these next couple of weeks are imperative.

I guess the only example I can relate to - when the Gophers football program was in shambles - (and to be fair - the previous AD was a pervert) they hired Mark Coyle at AD. He didn’t really have time to make immediate changes and kept the old regime until about halfway thru the following season, canned the previous coach mid season - and then hired PJ Fleck after he made that run at Western Michigan.

Point being - if we don’t have a new AD in place very fast (which you also don’t want to rush) we are probably looking at least a partial Manny year next year. Although I don’t like the idea of having Manny back next year - the deadline for hiring a new AD is creating that reality. I’m not super thrilled about any of the coaches being floated to be honest though either - and don’t think there’s great names available that we would have chances at.

Great, things should go swimmingly.

**** If we could hire him Urban Meyer would absolutely be my #1 hire.

I think Cristobal will do an excellent job recruiting Miami, so from that perspective I'd be okay with it. I don't think he is some insanely great coach. But I think if the program is committed to winning, he can go out and get some great coaches.

It really just is about the Athletic Department and School as a whole and if they are going to actually put effort in to having a great football program or not. Don't do that and it doesn't matter who the coach is, they wont have sustained success.

We know they’ve been working behind the scenes… see what happens 11/18

Nah they’re just providing a scenario. we know it’s not likely at all. We just have to accept that theres a real chance Mario says I’ll pass amd we’re left holding our ****s

**** I didn’t see any scenario where we would beat NC State or Pitt.

As unlikely as 10 wins is, nothing would surprise at this point. Even if we got 10, I still don’t think it means anything long term except TVD is a good young quarterback.

All of Manny’s weaknesses are still there.

As I’ve said Manny was dead with a Ncsu loss. He survived that game and Pitt.
I already posted they were giving him a chance until he’s eliminated from the coastal, which got people all in their feels. Him winning the last two games likely insures he’ll make it through the season , minus a really bad loss. You should know how they roll by now. Manny still has a very long road to go until he’s safe. There’s four power five schools left and we know his history. I always said he needed a miracle run.

They did mention what I’ve been posting about the program making changes and supposedly treating this like a big boy program going forward. So there’s that.
You and Alex jones have both said that “it’s done”, past tense, meaning he’s already gone it just hasn’t been announced. I didn't believe it because I do know how they roll so I questioned it…it can’t be both
