I am leaning toward this. A lot of this drama sounds like a hyperbole being disseminated by "sources" that want to make everyone look like clowns.

Maybe they had a conversation and prior Manny was whatever Manny was about it. What exactly was Highsmith being offered? What role? Opinions can change, maybe Manny's did.

If All this other BS is true regarding ****ed off BOT members then Manny or Flake neither one should have a choice.

Both are EMPLOYEES and as such should be being told what to do not asked.

The only reason why Manny and Blake can do what they are doing is because the Shalala Faction Of the Board still controls the swing votes on any critical decisions affecting the University. The fact that Blake is apparently a boffo fundraiser has not been lost on the Board members.
