Hats off to him. Came out a little shaky in the first. MADE ADJUSTMENTS. D was great in the second. Can't wait til this guy has legit depth.

The defense will only continue to get better under him when the freshmen get used to the grind of a college season.

or just some decent safeties that can tackle, not take bad angles, dont blow coverage, etc...

Can't complain about what he has done this year. Needs more ballers to come in and add to the young guys playing now.
 
What he's done with three Fr lb's , defensive depth and suspect cb's ( minus 29) has him at jr God status

IMHO Diaz's style fits really well with the type of players he is going to get at Miami. Best DC we have had in a long, long time. South Florida kids should be salivating at the chance to play for him. I hope we can keep him around for a while.
 
Nice to see stan dobard play de on that last drive, almost got a sack. Manny has done a great job with this defense considering the injuries and depth problems.
 
The defense is the last problem on this team. They played tough today, especially the fr 3 LBs. McCloud had his best game. And Corn ******* Elder better start getting some recognition.

Corn almost gave up a td in the first half, thank god the Pitt receiver dropped the ball. Otherwise corn played well.

Disagree the last 2 losses were mainly because of the defense
 
He's the coach that people should be saying "wait until he gets his players". When we get real safeties and corners the opposing QB's are going to have PTSD after facing Diaz's defenses.

When the defense is on the field for 40 minutes a game, only an asshat would imply it was their fault.
 
We were ok defensively, but Pitt helped us a lot with drops and big turnovers. We're giving up too many 3rd and longs.
 
If Manny Sticks around for the next couple years UM will be in great shape on at least one side of the ball.

Maybe the VT game, but the D isn't responsible for the ND loss. And the fact that we have had no running game the last 4 games has amplified the pressure on the defense. The fact is we are 8-1 right now with just solid o-line play. The defense has been very good all year.
