Manny Diaz Joins The LeBatard Show @11:30am EST

Pretty much the entire ESPN talk/editorial universe is trash. Anyone and everyone who makes it on to their platform makes a ton of money and has tons of listeners, because they practically monopolize the airwaves. Media these days has become about distribution channels, not talent or interesting new ideas.

There are great shows and great entertainers out there in local markets all over the country, but they get drowned out nationally by the sheer dominance and inanity of ESPN.

These guys are clowns. It is what it is.

That being said national or regional, who do you any of the other posters listen to (including podcast). Canes are my main love but I enjoy college hoops and baseball so always looking for new good podcast or shows to listen to. I find myself listening to Feinbaum because he talks college football (even though it’s SEC)

My favorite, along with the CiS podcast, and the OBB podcast, which is a FANTASTIC new addition, BTW. If you haven't listened to them yet, do yourself a favor and look for Orange Bowl Boys on iTunes, Soundcloud, or wherever you get your podcasts.

Anyway, my favorite straight sports talk guy is the Steve Czaben show. I started listening back when I lived in MD and have been following him by podcast ever since. He's on a DC sports radio station, so the Redskins and Caps talk, as well as Wizards and Nationals to a lesser extent, is prevalent, but he did a national show for many years and still does look at things from a national perspective. His show is funny, interesting and not cookie cutter like frigging Mike and Mike or Golic and Wingo. There's not as much college football as I'd like, but they cover sports well and also talk about plenty of general interest "guy" stuff as well. You're definitely NOT going to hear them spend three hours breaking down one controversial play or officiating call like you will on lots of shows.

Can't be much help to you as far as podcasts go. Kind of old school somewhat and my location is somewhat prohibitive. That's one of the main reasons I appreciate this site as much as I do. Before CIS, it was extremely difficult to get REAL Canes info for me. Time was a factor as well until recently.

You guys do realize they spoof sports talk? They would never actually ask a question about a ******* offensive coordinator lmao. There's a reason it's the #1 sports radio show.

this. people take sports way too seriously and thats why lebatard does well. he knows there are a million too serious radio shows that treat entertainment like life or death. his show is funny but u have to realize it isnt a sports show, its entertainment. theyre going to ask nonsense to guests esp coaches, bc they hate the nonsense coach speak they give during interviews

I hated every second of it. Dude was HATED by UM & the team while he was there, that’s why he’s always taking shots whenever he can. He was such a bit*ch that he stopped going to class & never even went back to get his diploma.

they mail you the diploma. also, better check out half the science classes at UM. unless they require attendance, when i was there, you could easily skip the semester and show up for the exams.

Lebatard's the only sports show that I listen to. I mean who wants to listen to someone asking Manny if he picked an OC yet for the 100th time this week? Interview was awkward af which is par for the course with their show. Pipo was funny and teeing him up to make fun of finebaum was a good move by them

I had no idea who it was talking. What makes you think Manny knows who Finebaum is?

But on the flip side, you would think that with someone who claims to love the city of Miami & Cuban people so much, that he would want to celebrate the unique aspects of a Cuban man being head coach at the university of Miami.

lol Pipo is absolutely the best thing they could have done. that describes literally the stereotypical miami fan (it really is every miami fan growing up).

I mean I will never get the love affair with Lebatard. Great writer but awful on tv and he's not funny I mean ESPN has so much talent and yet they have this clown on and somehow whenever something locally happens they ask him and the dumbass New Yorker to give insight

You don’t get the show.
