Manny’s first real test as HC..,

You might as well get ready for some disappointment because no coach no matter how good he is can't fix the last 18 yrs of mediocrity we've had in 6 months or 1 season.

Wait. What?

You mean Manny isn't going to hoist the Natty after winning the final game 217-0?

What a **** hire.

FTB!

FTB now, FTB often!

Yep. But his defense quit against Wisconsin.
It might have but our defense is the reason we won 7games.they quit because after not qu iting all season long while the offense and punter put them between a hard place and the softball time after time there was no hope left in the cause.I don't blame the defense back in the day our defense would be shipped the offensive players a$$ for playing like they did last season.

Yep. But his defense quit against Wisconsin.

They absolutely did. It’s something I’ve pondered in the past.

Although I totally disagree with them quitting, at that place and time I understood why it happened. Although I didn’t agree with it.

It was his last game, he was gone. Probably the linebackers knew that they were gone. And the entire defense was disheartened from the lack of the offense even being able to put them in the game. No excuse but you can see how it happened.

It was still quitting though, and the question I have is, I wonder if he has addressed it with those guys that are really close to him, i.e., the guys on defense.

And if he addressed it, I wonder how he addressed it.

I’m not talking about how he addressed it at the end of that game. Everybody just went their separate ways then.

I wonder if he’s addressed it now. He needs to because it was unacceptable.

Did he light into them when he came back? Did he have a heart to heart with them? Let them know that it wasn’t acceptable then, and it won’t be acceptable now? I wonder.

You say they quit I say if you watch the defensive players on the sidelines during the game you could see it in their actions every time the offense went 3 & out and punts were disgusting they were discouraged.Defense never had a chance to catch it's breath it was on the field so much.lucky there wasn't a big fight in the locker after that game of any of the others we lost.I know those defensive players felt betrayed by the offensive players and felt like kicking somebody's a$$ on that side of the ball .I'm not blaming the defense for quitting they played hard all season long.

They quit in the second half.

Question should've been what will the fans do it their qb isn't starting.Manny has already shown everybody he isn't playing around.if players want to disrupt what Manny and co are trying to they'll be shown the door real quick like. He's already made some leave because they wouldn't fit his parameters.
He hasn’t dealt with choosing a starting QB from what appears to be 3 evenly matched guys who all think they should win the job.

Fans quit on the team mid season after watching our offense and special teams(aka punter) stink up the field.what did you expect the defense to do.last game they (defensive players) like the fans knew the game was over at halftime.you couldn't show me a time in your life you saw something that wasn't working out for you that you stuck around trying work it out.so why do you expect young men to keep grinding when there's no hope in a positive outcome.

Someone needed attention today apparently. Hopefully the coaches have him on speed dial for when situations arise and they need an expert opinion on how to deal with it.

It's his first hc gig give him a chance to prove himself.I'm sure Manny will make a few mistakes along the way.just like everybody else does when they start something new.your just fishing for bone to gripe about.I'm not worried about Manny I believe he will make a great hc.that's if you and other fans don't nitpick his every move or decision you don't like.

I understand exactly why they quit, and it’s why I felt so hopeless about the program after that game. If Rick was going to remain HC it was only going to get worse. That would have become the norm.

Imo that Wisconsin game was nothing other than a complete abject failure by the offense. The defense was put in an impossible position the entire game yet at the end of three quarters Wisconsin had only scored 21 points, with one TD coming after an inexplicable INT by Malik on our first offensive play of the game at our own 7 yard line.

Here's summary of Miami's offensive posessions in that game:

1 play INT
6 plays Punt
3 plays FG
3 plays Punt
1 play INT
4 plays Fumble
1 play Half
6 plays Punt
3 plays INT
3 plays Punt
3 plays INT
3 plays Punt
3 plays Punt

That's five turnovers and and another 3-4 three and outs. Maybe one or two defenses in the country keep it as close as ours did. The fact they were gassed, beaten down and demoralized late shouldn't be written off as quitting.

Way to try to twist a good discussion into something stupid.
I didn't twist anything your the one sayin g there's a possibility of the locker room being split.every hc has had to deal this every time starters are picked not just first time hcs.let the man do his job quit expecting him to do a perfect job .I feel you don't or won't understand this.working people make mistakes those who don't work can't make any.

They quit. It’s ok to admit it. They stopped trying to beat blocks and started turning down contact.
