Mallory returning next season

I think this is a great decision for him. It looks like he regained interest this season, probably having to do with TVD.

Still, he needs to let the beast out and really start pushing people around. He could be productive at the next level but as others have said he won’t get drafted until he really bullies people around.

I know it’s in there….just let it out.

Terrible news for Arroyo.
Pope, Wiggins and Hall concur with this post. I'm not sure if I agree. Mallory is good for about 25 receptions for the year. Arroyo will be targeted more. He is just a better athlete and should separate after getting stronger this off season.

I actually do think he would've been drafted very late based on measurables and possible workout/Combine performance.

That said, he's played better of late but coming back and trying to put together an actual complete season as part of a hopeful two headed beast with Arroyo is the muchhhh smarter move.

I'm personally not gonna **** on the kid here because I bet he would've had very significant interest in the transfer portal too despite underperforming since Brevin left (too early).

The right call. He needs to dedicate himself to getting stronger and learning to at least be an average blocker. Shockey did it before 2001 and made himself millions. Not that Will is in his league but he could carve out a pro career for himself if he could learn to block just a little.

Good for Mallory and the team. Why do we need to say anything more? Many of you might be surprised that sometimes the simple reply is the correct reply.
Good for Mallory? Yes. Good for the team in terms of depth? yes. My concern is potentially losing Arroyo because of it, which would be good for Mallory but bad for the team. Maybe a new coach gets Arroyo more snaps or involved more but if Arroyo has to sit a second year behind Will watching him whiff blocks it wont be good.

I may be off-line but I think @SouthParkCane said he was upset early on and was starting to get restless which I took as a sign of **** needs to change. And before CIS jumps on Arroyo with the "well if he wont compete he should transfer" nonsense, I am more so making a point of how our younger players are handled when it comes to playing time with the current staff. It could be as simple of a fix as better communication, i.e. don't tell a kid he is playing this week, only for him not to play. Best to under-promise and overutilize than the other way around.

Good news. Arroyo will get his, not worried about that.

A pic I took during the game of Mallory going down prior to and in anticipation of contact after making a catch and turning to get upfield. The defender basically fell on top of him and wasn’t forced to make a tackle. Mallory made up for this play later with that 3rd down grab. He needs to work on his confidence, strength and get a mean streak during the off-season.

Arroyo is not transferring and leaving a team that scores like UM or a quarterback like TVD. Arroyo will continue to improve and get more opportunities.

I’m happy he is returning but he needs to work on his flexibility. Is it me or it seems like he has gotten much slower and just runs and walks stiff almost as if he has a lower extremity injury all the time.
