Here's a quote from Miami Herald blog:

As for backup Malik Rosier, the staff loves his arm strength and believes he can be dangerous in read option sets. During the spring, he completed a 75-yard pass and run to Berrios on a read option play that Kansas State uses.

Rosier said UM coaches are “trying to put in special packages, run/pass plays for me. There are certain plays I'm going to run. Brad is capable of running them but they're more specific towards me. It should be really interesting what we do this year” with those plays.

I expected to see some of this last year but could be a weapon if its implemented this season.

Not a fan of taking the starting QB out. I've seen it play out several times in college and the pros and it never seems to work out. Anecdotes isn't the plural of data though so maybe someone has the stats to prove me wrong. I just feel like 1/15 of these gimmick plays go for a big gain but most of the time it just takes the starter out of rhythm.

Heck, we've never been able to stop the run option against anyone. Why not run it since we have an athletic QB in Malik? I like it.

I hate the 2 QB system, I understand they want to use Rosier more because of his ability but let Kaaya shine man. its his team, let him go out and ball. if used in garbage time, then i wouldnt have a problem with this.

Ok, so Malik threw a 75 yard pass to Berrios? We have to keep things in perspective. This is still no "D"s "Wefense". Im pretty sure this is the same wefense has made every QB for the last 3 years look like a Heisman candidate. I am pretty sure my grandmother could complete a pass or two against our wefense. A lot of folks seem to joke and laugh at the whole "Wefense" name. I also laugh a little, then cry. It does seem that this is a much more accurate name for our defensive side of the ball. They did take the "D" out of our defense in every way possible.

Positive: This would be an example of, "Players first, then plays"

Negative: It takes the ball away from the player with the best pro potential on the offense.

If Kaaya could run the read-option, I wouldn't have an issue with this. But since he doesn't, it will be fairly obvious what's coming if Rosier comes into the game. I'm not sure that's the best position to put him in?

And not to be overlooked ... EVERY option offense is predicated on timing. If the timing is off, it increases the chances of errors. I'm not sure how they get and keep the timing right, unless there are very few plays ...

All of that noted ... I think it might be an ideal package for 2-point conversions. Always a run-run-pass option.

Won't happen. They said the same thing about Dallas Crawford and didn't happen once last year. Kaaya will take all the snaps unless injured or a blow out..

The first two games in the second half of them, I am all for it... After that, no thanks, this is Kaayas' job, every play should be under his direction and leadership.

The 2 point play, garbage time, and plays after QB is shaken up are decent options. Especially if Malik can be groomed as the holder. (also could work field goal situation).

This is called stroking a backup because you'd actually like to have a semi-competent backup. Pie in the sky talk to keep the kid from bolting to baseball fulltime. You won't see any of this on a regular basis outside of mop up time....if we're ever actually up significantly on a team late.

Who gives a fcvk?

Why do you even bother coming on this board?

Because she wants everyone to know that her feelings are very badly hurt.

Kaaya should never come out of the game unless he's injured. Coley should be working on play calls other than quick screens and outside/inside zones not the ******* read option.

YOU GOD DAMNED RIGHT MY FEELINGS ARE HURT! If watching these kids and this team struggle the way it has over the last 3 corching regimes doesn't hurt your feelings then you are on the wrong website you farquat.

The love of my life has been destroyed and the people in charge don't give a **** and to top it off half the fan base are either delusional chinstraps or smarmy "above the fray" types that refuse to take a real stand on anything lest they be wrong. Cowards.

I give no fvcks about Gorlden continually lipsticking the pig. Time after time for 5 straight off-seasons we've been fed this ****e about how dynamic and different the team is going to be. How the changes are going to be evident on the field and the innovations on both sides of the ball are going to change Miami back into something that resembles the U of old.

It gets so old after a while watching you lemmings swallow this ***** and then sure enough by week 8 of the season I'll be proven right, yet again.

The thing is I'm not the only one. Dan E. Dangerously is one of the best posters here and he's basically given up completely. If you think I'm the only one that isn't a part of your sunshine pumping party think again.

Bring Butch the fvck back already and let's get this thing moving in the right direction.

Good day to you lover boy. May your Summer's Eve be gentle and refreshing.
