Malik Rosier has committed to Miami

Offer lists and interest from programs are what the whack recruiting websites use to determine stars. They aren't doing any independent scouting, nor do they have the ability to do that.

That maybe true but that doesn't mean it's not accurate most of the time.

I trust evaluations from college coaches. If the kid's offer list is poor BECAUSE HE HASN'T BEEN SEEN BY COLLEGE COACHES then that's one thing. (which I already said could be happening)

This is the first pick up of 2014 that I don't like. IMO, there are better QBs out there...a few of them have already been named. This kid is barely pushing 6'0 and we were his only BCS offer.

Only thing I can say about that is I'm not sure how easy it is to convince a kid they can be QB commit #3 in a class, know what I mean?

If we offered Winky, with two others in the fold, does he automatically jump on board?

Though again, offer sheets are borderline meaningless with this staff in my eyes. We have been ahead of the game repeatedly.

If you're gonna take Rosier then why not recruit Sean White or Wade Freebeck?

You're gonna go to Alabama and take a kid with an extremely mediocre offer list when you have QB's in your backyard that are very comparable? (or even better)

I don't know. Must be something I'm not seeing.

Who cares what his offer list looks like? If the staff waits until a kid blows up, then they get dissed for slow playing kids. When they're offered early, people bytch about the lack of offers. Gotta love internet CEO's...smh.

Shieet, I do. Freakin' offer lists speak volumes. They're sure as **** more reliable than recruiting services. This ain't some kid from our backyard. I look at offer lists because it's a good indication of what the TRUE EXPERTS (other college coaches) thought of him.

You can say that Coley knows quarterbacks, and that's fine, but at the same time you're saying that the other FBS coaches who saw Crosier DON'T. (and FWIW I don't know what other FBS coaches saw him, I'm just making a point)

I never mention Coley or Crozier or FBS coaches or anyone else in my post, so please don't make ***** up. K. Thx.

You still didn't address my point about the offer list. You are complaining that this kid's offer list isn't impressive, thus implying that he's not worthy of a Miami offer. As others have pointed out, Kaaya falls into that category, too. Now that he's committed to us, what would you say if he starts picking up offers from other BCS schools? Would that make him a better prospect in your eyes? If so, you're beyond help. Also, I remind you that the offer lists the "services" have come from the kids themselves. If the kid doesn't want us to know he has an offer, we won't know about it.

Offer lists speak volumes alright...volumes of ***** for shallow dolts who think they know more than the coaches who get paid to know who is worthy of an offer.

You sound like defensive little **** right now. Stop crying.

If you don't pay attention to what other college coaches think (i.e. offer lists) then I don't know what to tell you.

I said I loved his film and maybe he just hasn't been discovered yet. But if you think offers don't mean anything then you don't know WTF you're looking at. It means plenty, particularly if the kid has been seen by schools.

You can hear me? Over the interwebs? You must have awesome hearing.

Offers don't mean anything, because we only know about the offers the kid wants us to know about. The schools don't release who they send offers out to. I didn't think that was so difficult to understand. Oh well, I give up. As Ron White says, "You can't fix stupid."

Remember this is Coley we are talking about, not Coker. Coley likes the tall QBs that can scramble and throw. EJ style QB. I dont think we will see a true pocket passer for a while.

Rosier isn't tall.

He may be very smart though. Onething that makes Russell Wilson and Drew Brees special is that what they lack in size they make up for in the mental department. They have it down to a science as a passer and where to make the right reads and are also very accurate so in this offense Rosier will be moving around and not even have to worry about throwing over the big oline. Also, from what I saw on tape he's best throwing on the run

He might be football's version of Einstein like some of our posters here. But that wasn't what the dude said. He said Coley likes tall QBs. Rosier isn't tall.

Rosier is 5'11 or 6'0 so I know that but im saying that if he takes this kid without the size then something really stands out. I used Wilson and Brees as examples of how they stood out and if you ask all the D-1 schools now if they would've gave both of them a chance if given the opportunity I could guarantee 90% would.

I thought he was tall. video says 6'2, espn says 6'1. I think thats tall, but everyone is tall then I am, so...

Maybe we need confirmation because I remember reading 6'0 but if he's 6'2 that's tall enough for me

Super excited to add Rosier! Welcome to the U! Only thing that scares me is a scholarship reduction from the NCAA and we will have way too many QBs. As of now looks okay. Happy with all 3 in this order Kaaya, Alin, Rosier.

I like Rosier at quarterback, but his brief highlights at safety are absolutely spectacular. Possible fallback position if it doesn't work out at QB.

Crow and Dewey will transfer after the season.

I think Dewey is all but gone. Crow, otoh, did well in the spring. He'll be given one more chance in the summer. If Olsen passes him this summer, Crow is gone as well.

Staff is trying to place Dewey
Morris graduates
Crow is going nowhere, he was a leader in HS with mechanical issues. Now he's correcting those and is at worse a very good #2.
Wiiliams gets nod as a senior for now, crow, Olsen and kaaya may challenge.
Edourd and rosier should stick as 2015 is completely open, no one on beyond Morris and Williams has thrown a pass at this level.

For the record...I love his tape. There's some grown man throws on there. Maybe we're just the first big school to see him.

NO

Thats the only drawback for me with him...kid has been camping but aint getting the offers..not even Southern Miss i believe has pulled the string.

Kaaya is about to blow up...and he already had San Diego State and i believe Oklahoma State offers. Also Different animal....as Kaaya plays in Cal where a good qb can go unnoticed....This dude is the highest rated qb in Alabama on Scout...if he had some regional offers i wont have the feeling i got right now.

*people talk bout Alin Edouard..he has the bcs offers...he has regional offers...

*wont be too mad with the pick up because this is COLEY'S guy...saw him in camp etc...i just hope their not caught up because the kid actually looks like Russel Wilson..because legitimately he does look like that guy.

We are his double back up plan, I'd really be thinking whether to take his commit or not! I guess we can dump him if we get better commits too. I doubt bama will offer though.

"There were a couple of other schools that we thought might offer and if that happens, I might go there, but I feel really good about Miami right now," he said.
What kinda backwards stuff is that?

That quote is way more f'd up then what Alin has been getting ripped for.

Context fellas. "Go there" as in take an OV, which was he was being asked about. Not "go there" as in he's decided to automatically flip if offered.

Because Coley likes him better then those guys.

Why go to California and recruit a kid (Kaaya) with no offers at all? That kid seems like he's pretty good. Maybe this Coley guy has a decent eye for QB talent.

Dont think Freebeck or White would look to be #3. UM now has 3 QB commits. Although I dont think Eduoard wil stay with UM.
Still dont understand why Freebeck wasn't looked at. He has offers from PITT and Florida among others. But not good enough for UM?

I watched his film last night. In my interwebs-armchair opinion, I think he has a really live arm. Throws on a line as well as on the run. I think that is what Coley likes. I can't see him any taller than 6'1 but again, I think he has a really strong arm and can make all the throws.
