Malek Young - Welcome to the U

He's 5'9 and not very big, so not sure how he'd fair in the slot at the next level. DB and KR is a another story. Kid will be a stud.

Great pickup. Very versatile and definitely is better than his 3* rating. Around this time of year under Goldy, kids would be decommitting. Love this so far.

Big pickup. Fast, quick, aggressive in run support. He outperformed Mullen at Army practices and started the game.

The only negative is height (5'9.5) but his length and hand size checked out very well at the Army weigh-in. I see him as a slot corner and returner who can also play outside.

nickel corner, sub 4.5 40 kid.....Could work in the return game...should be glued to Corn Elder's hip when he gets here.....

will help with Creek kids down the pike.

Love this pickup. 2 really solid local guys at a desperate position of need with Byrd and Young. They both looked ready to log some reps day 1 and compliment the skill sets of Redwine and Corn nicely.

Obviously having been a prior Richt commit was likely what made this happen so quickly, but I wonder if the DB recruits aren't also feeling some pressure to secure a spot in this class since there are so many guys on our board right now for visits. Carter, Becker, Finley, Pierre, Robinson, Cook, Givens...if they want to get in this class they may not be able to wait until NSD.

Thats how the big boys get it done. Let them know either jump on the train or get left behind

Before someone goes stepping over my toes. I've been a big fan of this kid when he wasn't even talking to us and was committed to UGA. Great pickup and gives a lot of versatility.

Don't listen to these clowns on here Geo.

So our DB depth for next year:

CB 1 - Corn
CB 2 - Redwine
CB 3 - Byrd?
CB 4 - Young?
CB 5 - Jackson?

FS - Jenkins
SS - Carter
FS - Johnson

Didn't include any other potential frosh or guys like Ryan Mayes
