Make O'Leary, Benjamin, and Shaw beat you

This is how you make it a game vs FSU

1. Run the ball - Use Crawford and Duke to relentlessly pound the ball right at them. No stretch stuff or pitches - kick their *** and go right at them. Shorten the game by eating clock, and most importantly, keep Jameis on the sideline. Also, it should help limit turnovers. We've run the ball well all year, time to lean on it.

2. Pressure Winston - By any means necessary. You cannot sit back against great QBs and hope they make a poor throw, or that your coverage can make a play. We have to make him uncomfortable or it'll be easy pickins for him. If we can't do it with 4, Dorito has to adapt and sent heat and trust the secondary. He can't wait until halftime to waltz down from the booth and make adjustments, because it could be too late.

3. Play clean - This is a game where we need to have a 0 in the turnover column. Really simple.

Is that your woman?

She's something.

Couldn't agree more. Line up with 2 TEs and play smashmouth and on defense make Winston uncomfortable, even if he likes to dump the ball off. If you watched BC earlier, they're the only team to expose a potential FSU weakness . . . played physical up front and ran the ball right at them.

We started to shelf it with Dallas in the 4th quarter against UNC.

I'm against trying that against a defense as fast as FSU's.

Not really..we still ran zone running plays in the 4th qtr with Dallas...You cant change your identity midseason.... Watching the game last night FSU brings its safety in the box a lot.. Play action will be our best friend.. Clive and Beau should get mad PT... I hope we can trust Morris to throw over the middle

I think the key is to pressure Winston. Not sit back and let him find open wrs or take off while our back 7 are 20 yards down filed. Pressure and hit him.

Money.

On offense you play conservative but on defense you go down swinging. FSU is going to get their points, so we have to sustain drives and grind them down. Gotta take Winston out of his rhythm any means necessary. Duke and Crawford need to play like warriors.

Winston handles pressure very well but it doesn't matter. You either die the slow death or go down swinging.

As fans, it is imperative that we not lose focus on Wake Forest! I don't want to see any fans looking ahead to FSU!

Agree!
Keys to the FSU game for us to win are
Our Oline- we need to pound the ball.
52- needs to shadow Jameis
Our secondary- they will have to play a lot of man to man if we are going to blitz Winston as I think we should.

None of these are impossible to execute IMO. Our oline is the best we have had in years and capable of greatness. 52 is a monster this rivalry means a lot to him. Our dbacks are underrated. 3, gunter, bush and Jenkins are very capable and Artie HAS to get burn in this one.

Finally FSU has been a perennial overachiever thanks to us. This one however would be very special IF we pull it off. It is going to be the hardest one of all but we can do it.

Yes! As fans let's focus our cheers against wake before fsu!
Delete this thread before jimbo logs on and schemes against our game plan!

Well now they know our plan

This is my exact point! Uh! Why didn't the OP just email the coaches? We could have used this to win. I know for a fact opposing staffs use this board to gather "the un-obvious" things that don't show up on film. This is terrible, because I had a similar write up (5 points instead of two, but one was a kitchen trick I was told to get players really hype. Number 4 was honest), but I sent it to the coaches!!!!

Miami shouldnt really blitz at all unless the situation is perfect for it... we already have a scheme that is the best way to defend FSU's offense.

Our D-line has to win the battle in the trenches, so our Linebackers can stop the run, be physical w/ Nick O' Leary at the line, and just continue to let Gunter and Howard do what they do while having Ray Jenkins play deep w/ Deon Bush underneath.

Our defense knows how to tackle, and the scheme is made to prevent big plays over the top, which is what Jameis likes to do w/ his receivers.... contain the big play, stay in zone for the most part, and let the front 4 create pressure w/ the rotation.

The Offense has to be able to keep putting pressure on FSU's defense, as long as we can run the ball effectively w/ our O-line, which is a weakness for FSU's defense, then we can put FSU's defense on their heels.
