Obviously in the 80s, with the famous pic of Strock (?, I believe) with Kosar, Kelly, Testaverde, Richt, etc.

Did we have one under Butch?

A dedicated QB coach works entirely with his unit all throughout the week. Yes obviously we have a staff that works with QBs as well. But no one who has a proven track record with developing QBs. Besides that we've had plenty of games we could've put in back ups. Just a fact. We don't devote attention to the room as a whole the way we should and it's why we have to keep going to the portal instead of playing our own.

I talked about this very subject months ago. It’s the way, now bc of NIL/Portal to look for a seasoned QB, w/o having to season them yourselves. And, got roasted by a douche here for suggesting we hire a dedicated QB coach. Bc.. bc.. Dawson is a QB coach. Well how the f**k is that working out. And, yes we need to have some games to give the second stringers/back ups some PT. It’s a thin line between love and hate, but thinner between starters and backups for Pt, and a tightrope walk for the coaching staff to enact that. To provide the players with quality PT and appease their appetite for PT to keep them happy and in the fold

Mario had a QB coach his first or 2nd season. Richt had a QB coach.

Technically it's working out at an elite level going from Cam Ward -> Carson Beck -> Darian Mensah ...
And Nickel and Coleman are probably the best backup Qbs we've had in idk how long...

The reason we haven't played ANY high school QBs at this point falls entirely on staff. We don't give any burn to the room as a whole. We devote all of our energy entirely on starting QBs. Very few reps going out to back up QBs. Definitely not 3rd string. That's one thing I'm tremendously disappointed in this staff over is we don't have a dedicated QB coach. That falls on Dawson and he for obvious reasons can't take time for that. Gonna backfire on us if we ever have to play back up.

Obviously you're allowed your opinion brother. I'll just leave it at I greatly disagree. Back ups are regressing at QB with us. Hopefully that point will never be proven more than it already has.
