Luke Fickel should be #1 on your list

I don’t see a Midwest hard *** type succeeding here. He’s literally always worked in Ohio, lived in Ohio went to Taint. I’m going to pass on that.

Not all in on him, he probably won’t be interested and I don’t want to have to win a bidding war, rather I want someone who wants to be at Miami. If such a guy exists.

But all in all, anyone with an edge to him and without a tie or a lisp will suffice at this point!

Is it weird that I like ALL the names everyone is mentioning? Fickel? Sign me up! Herman? Smooches! Kiffin, Mario, Freeze?? Yes, yes, yes!!! I mean, I like some more than others, but I’d take any of them right now and think we’d be in a much better place.

Something is definitely wrong with me. Lol

If he succeeds, he'll be gone as soon as the OSU coaching job becomes available.

I wouldn't be surprised to see Fickell just stay at Cincinnati until the OSU job becomes available. He'll be making $4mil a year. Expectations aren't sky high so he could string together a couple 7-9 win seasons and his seat wouldn't get too hot. He could reasonably expect to stay there for 8-10+ years and then just slide into the OSU job whenever it becomes available.

About our job.

Just because Fickell wouldn't be interested doesn't mean we can't attract great coaches..it just has to be the right fit.

Miami will always be attractive for 3 reasons.

1. Easy conference
2. Great recruiting
3. State of Florida (weather, no income tax, etc).

A coach knows they could come in here and dominate the conference with just GOOD recruiting and GOOD coaching. Should be a perennial 10-2 team at Miami with playoff implications every year and national title hopes when you get that special QB/players aligned. We literally saw Clemson do it.

Would love him but he says no.

He’ll get the USC job if Franklin passes, the LSU job if Meyer passes, or will hold out for OSU or ND.

Isn't UC going P5 when UT and Oklahoma move to the SEC?

I can definitely see him building UC. Its not a dead end school anymore with the P5 move looming around the corner.

But I would def take him. However,

GIVE ME HERMAN. Agree, tell him no kisses. Ill take the rest though.

I don’t get the Herman love but maybe it’s because I have the “No-Fired-Coaches” syndrome.

What makes him a good candidate for us? I have 7/8 names I’d consider before calling him.

It’s funny how we continue to talk about different coaches, Blake James and those participation award cheerleaders in leadership is the problem. Guy like fickel is to alpha for them!!! Football is an after thought for them. They allow just enough. #wegressionU were 4-5 stars go to dead‼️

If he turns down the USC job, then he waiting for OSU.

To me, he's an OSU guy, and if Ryan Day loses another game, Fickell could get the call he's been waiting for his whole life. Plus, Cincy is rolling and they're competition is weak. If I was him, I'd stay exactly where I was until the prefect job opened up. And if that not USC, with an AD that believed in him, it's gotta his alma mater.

I just don't know if this is an attractive job for the guy like him. I mean, if he turns down USC, what does Miami offer that USC can't?
