Luka Gilbert and Brock Schott (not hurt)

lol you are clueless.
There's no such thing as a "12 personnel offense"🤣
We run 12 all the time and did last year too.
👇
And when your teams offense lineup in predominantly 12 personnel formations its a **** 12 personnel offense, buddy.

I didnt say anything about us NOT running or using 12 personnel sets. I said Dawson doesnt have the playbook for it and its trash.

hes an air raid coach. His 12 personnel sets and concepts STINK and should be used sparingly. Also, name an offense, besides the Patriots, with Gronk and Hernandez thats been great using a lot of double TE sets? Ill wait.

What WR and QBs wants to come play in a ******* 12 personnel set offense?

12 personnel sets suck!!
Go argue with a wall dummy.
The receipts are clearly stated in your original post.
And you should learn how to read quotes. And Try breathing through your nose. 🤣🤣🤣

Anyone else surprised he got burn before Schott? Always heard he was a blocking TE mainly, but he looked good catching. Also, speaking of Schott, no wonder he broke UM TE squat record. He was hard to bring down. They'll surpass Lofton. Lofton just needs to be a Swiss army knife guy.

This administration puts a premium on physicality and dominance at the line of scrimmage. I’m certainly surprised, but getting a lock at the size and tools the young man brings to the table, I am no longer surprised and expect more burn as we get deeper into the ACC campaign.

The “Swiss army knife” thing falls flat for me

If he’s not a good enough running back to take carries from Fletcher, and he’s not good enough in space to outrun or make people miss…then what are we even talking about?

Just put him at fullback

2 things can be true. These guys will be good and Lofton will ball out once fully healthy. He simply is not healthy right now. I bet he has a shoulder he is dealing with.

Who can put Lofton on the wolverine pic?

If Lofton kills me it's your fault.

I see a lot of 12 personnel in our future
Now that you mention personnel, I would like to see Dawson tinker with some 22 with the backfield consisting of one of Fletcher, Brown or Lyle paired with Lofton and Gilbert and Schott as the TEs. We could mix it up by switching Lofton for either Schott or Gilbert or you could run 31 personnel and use a diamond formation in the backfield. You could utilize an H-Back or a Fullback. Another idea would be to use SJ Alofaituli as a blocking FB or an inline TE. It really doesn't matter what you call their position. The important thing is thinking off different ways in which to best use and get the most out of your personnel.

Call him a TE, FB, HB, idk, whatever. It doesn’t change the fact that he is what he is - a guy who can be a nice outlet for beck in short space. He’s a nice red zone player imo. Someone else compared him to a Keith Byars type and I think that’s a great comp. Poor man’s Keith byars, as it were.

Lofton is a Cleveland Gary type. He's a big back who's great in the receiving game. If you go back and look at the old games from that era Gary lined up in the slot ALOT.

That's the way Lofton has to be used. I view him as a 3rd down back kind of archetype.

He's 100% not a tight end. I've rewatched both games several times and it's actually pretty astonishing the number of blocks he straight up whiffs on. Go back and watch the first quarter of the ND game on the series right before we botched the field goal attempt. We pride ourselves on a running scheme that limits the number of carries for loss but Lofton performed one of the worst attempts at a block I've ever seen on that 2nd down right before we lined up for the field goal that led to a loss of 3 or 4 on that play.

If he’s been injured I won’t write him off yet. Just think it’s insane to call someone the best player on the team when they don’t even have a position

If you gotta go with Keith Byars, someone from a legitimate different generation of offensive football, then I don’t think that’s a good thing

Doesn't have the same game-breaking speed, but I see him more as a Kevin Concepcion player.

Just move him around and get him the ball. He's clearly a very good receiver and hard to bring down in space.
