I love the narrative because it assumes that a coach/school can’t be good at both. Well last I checked Mario has been arguably the best for 3 years at portal recruiting while also bringing in top 10 high school classes.Come on, man, you know that this was all part of Lane Train's master plan to become King of the Portal...
But hey they had to find an excuse and this was the only excuse avaiaible. Because otherwise they would have to admit Lane is and has always been a bad recruiter.

Edge Abraham Sesay who is a 5*. ND has been and is still thought to be the heavy favorite. He has a ND OV in mid June.
I probably dislike Lane more than any college HC at the moment. He is a OC and that's all he should ever be. He needed coach O back because Lane can't recruit and he doesn't want too. He just hopes coming in big with NIL does the job. Now, coach O will handle the recruiting.

Coach O is a good recruiter, but he’s pretty far past his prime. And hasn’t really “coached” is a very long time.

Yea and a bunch of guys he hired know where the bodies are. And if they applied his tactics he can’t say ****. He was on some girly **** trying to dry snitch on Kirby but had to backtrack cause Kirby could destroy his whole legacy.
Then he had Mario and Mario saw the structure of bama, and other coaches. When they left they applied it and Saban was already planing to retire. He did not want competition at all. When Saban left LSU they were still recruiting at a high clip cause of what Nick left. Same Mario left Oregon and Oregon knew the plan as well. Oregon didn’t get any trench daddies (pause) till Mario became the HC.
That’s why when Mario got hired and said “I know how it looks” I knew right there he would be elite he just needed time. And here we are

I'd like to compare how the portal signings worked out after the particular season they came in. I think one of those years Ole Miss ended up with like 3 top QBs in the portal, so I'm sure its skewed a little.

Trash that some fans will diminish what Mario is doing and say its NIL, this man would of did this same thing without the NIL era cause all the boosters would trust him. Everyone would be on board and he would cook in any era, I hate that the credit is NIL. Its good optics to say we bag but I hope our own fans realize that its Mario and we will lose coaches and he will still close and cook and the new coaches will leave as well.

They coping, look at the body types of those guys. They got wide receiver bodies but have no choice but to put their hands in the dirt because they not wrs. We got a straight demon at DE who is going to be just as good as Bain was. LSU fans are coping heavy right now and crying into their pillows at night.

We have the better strategy for sure. Being top 3 in portal isn’t even a good thing. You have to get Hugh volume to do that. It’s FAR better to just look at Portal only by avg rating tbh. Like if we get highly rated portal guys but like 10max per yr? Thats where we want to be. Might not be enough volume to be “ranked/rated” as the top or top 3-5 portal class. But the overall roster construction with that + being top 3-7 Out of HS is ideal. Don’t want to go too crazy out of HS cause you can’t expect them to all play asap and then you will get guys porting out and ultimately waste more NIL than needed.. You want developmental players mixed in too out of HS…
