but context is missing. they have good recruits- they just only have FOUR.

Before Saban retired he did this a lot. Then boom he would land a bunch of elite kids and end up with a number one class. But he wouldn’t flip half of his class.
If LSU wants a top 5 class they would have to flip multiple elite kids from multiple top paying programs.

And this is the thing with Kiffin; is he really an elite recruiter? Or does he depend on his offensive production, logo, and staff. He’s never appeared to me as some relentless recruiter that’s gonna grind to get a kid. He’s been better in the portal imo.

never has been elite recruiter - good in portal\
but that logo should be recruiting for him now... should be accidentally bad year top 20
 
Hates recruiting coaching college. Thats why he went from baby face to wrinkles HC at some of the biggest names in CFB and won nothing. All he does is yap like he has won. You need players from high school that are hard to entice into the portal

pre nil era ... alot of those kids are locked up via paperwork

There is a reason he wanted to be an NFL guy, bro hates recruiting. But his coaching schtick didn’t work in the league, and most importantly they don’t have freshman coeds.
