I corrected the statement.

Our D has regressed under Manny. He started off hot, teams have figured things out. That's just a fact.

The last couple of years his Defence has been picked a part. You can't tell me you watched last year and didnt see a massive drop off in many spots on our D.

Corners played poorly
Safety play has regressed
Linebackers are beyond bad
D-Ends have stayed consistent - very good
Striker have stayed consistent

We regressed.
Wrong, the D had its best year when Manny was calling plays and Simpson was DL coach in 2018. The D was ranked top 10 in several categories. Baker took over and called way too much zone and blitzed way less. Manny is taking over playcalling and already upgraded/brought back Simpson and TRob. What exactly are you missing about this? The D scheme is not the issue, the soft laid back playcaller was. Cribby stated himself that Diaz was unimpressed year 1 when Baker started calling plays.

So a key question is whether Danny White and Heupel will keep a guy who 1) is Phil Fulmer's buddy 2) wanted the Tennessee HC job 3) has a reputation for trying to engineer coups against HC. I would lean towards no. So Steele would be available. Would Diaz want Steele? If I'm not mistaken, it would cost Miami virtually nothing as he would be getting the offset from Auburn (and possibly Tennessee?) That would be something though- if this was Diaz playing the long game to save money by not firing Baker and letting another team take him off our hands, then getting Steele on the cheap.

thats giving anyone too much credit imo. hard to know that Tenn was gonna fire everyone and along with baker getting a job saving a buyout

Manny showed loyalty by not firing and helping him search out gigs. This is the last year of his deal. He was demoted and no contract going forward after this upcoming season. As I said over a month ago”people can be let go without firing them”.

When he didn’t find a gig manny just came out and said he was taking the play calling , that was the worst case scenario I spoke of for a month. Blake was done calling plays here.
I remember. To me it was more embarrassing to have your duties stripped. I would rather be fired

Steele is out at UT so I can’t say no to manny calling him. At this point im guessing like everyone else. All I know is what I’ve said , there’s been legit smoke with LSU and BB didn’t have much time left here, regardless of now or after the season. People just refuse to believe it, even though I’ve been clear about it. Even when I said at the very least BB is done calling plays here. People doubted it.

You all underestimate Manny da gawd.

Step 1) Dont fire Baker (save buyout money)
Step 2) Demote Baker and publicly embarrass him.
Step 3) Get another team to hire him (they will have to PAY US buyout money.

Manny getting paid to fire Baker. He playing chess not checkers.
what if i told you there is NO buyout money?

I think the plan was always to encourage Baker to go elsewhere. So that's not a shocker (at least to anyone with common sense). As for knowing Steele would be made available again- I don't think that was the master plan but he was surprised (as was most of CFB) by Steele taking the analyst gig. It was obvious then that Steele was only doing that because he was angling for the Tennessee HC job, but of course that didn't quite work out for him. Would still have to give Diaz credit for not panicking over the fact that his top candidates (Muschamp, Strong, Steele, Freeman) were off the table and then making a panic hire for a Plan D candidate. It was one of his top choices or none. Now whether he's decided that he is fine with doing the job himself (I don't think that was the case immediately after the season), is another question. But at least now Miami has the POSSIBILITY of getting an big upgrade at DC plus 700k to hire another position coach, which would not have been possible if Diaz acted like most of the fans here and had the emotional control of a 15 year old teenage girl and panic fired Baker then panic hired a lower tier DC.

Why? What makes you say they’re legit? I looked at the author, the guy that wrote that, and he has not a background that seems very legit at all, and it’s far away. I don’t see anything that would make him seem to have any sources at all. Tell me why you think he is legit
Can’t speak for the guy but FS doesn’t post frivolous and baseless rumors from what I’ve read over there. So I imagine accepting this guy means they think he’s legit. Could they be wrong? Sure. But even our Cribby is not 100%.
