LSU Bag Man

We do that and Emmert will ***** us over like he did the basketball program this year. Cannot understand how this ******* keeps a job when he lets one conference and a few other favorites constantly get away with this. The NCAA is crooked as **** but none of the other schools do anything about it.

Ridiculous how no one has been investigated for this yet.

NCAA never investigates what they don't want to investigate. lol

People always seem to think it is strange how much cheating L$U gets away with while never seeming to be able to take down Alabama?!?!

L$U is the graveyard where the Saban / Emmert bodies were buried together. They don't want anybody snooping around the graveyard. Therefore, Alabama, L$U and Mark Emmert's bank account all prosper....we are just along for the ride, as Michigan figured out there.

UM

We made a huge mistake not suing the NCAA over the Shapiro scandal. I'll say this about Blake...we know he's not the best AD on the planet but he would've sued the NCAA and refuted the scholly reductions. Blake actually has some cojones compared to Donna.

They didn't give him a bag. Good citizens just helping out his family who were in need.

No one can say there's anything illegal about that - good folks help other folks all over this country every day.

But Boats and Ho's? That's definitely not good optics. Nothing "Christian" about it.

That's why UM's bag game is so amateur and ineffective.

SEC got this down to 'morally admirable charity.'
Seems more like how many family members will "need assistance" ...and how much?

No one...except us.

From "Meet the Bag Man" article.
We're documented amatuers....

This is a newer wrinkle for the bag man. As a fan, the temptation might be to reward a player who's putting up great numbers, just as you might want to withhold from one who's thought to be showing poor effort. But as a businessperson, that's poor management. The 1980s Miami Hurricanes are in many ways a what-not-to-do guide for shadow boosters, but it was the system of incentives and bounties favored by 2000s Miami booster Nevin Shapiro that's shown the foolishness of incentives.

Yea...too bad LSU doesn’t pay like that anymore. They still pay but that money problem at LSU ain’t a joke.

lol..TAF has more money than they know what to do with.

Yes the SCHOOL has money problems.TAF DOESN'T have money problems....LSU is only outspent by maybe 3 schools A&M,Bagga and UGA but I'd bet it's close.

We are in the middle of doing a job at LSU for the new football operations building where TAF donated 8 million dollars toward the renovation of one of the old building's by the stadium into the new offices ,meeting rooms, hydro area etc..We just finished up a job renovating one of the old dorms into football dorms where TAF donated 4-5 million for that. There is one more old dorm that's left to renovate ( there was 3 of them in the horseshoe) That TAF is donating most of the money for that.

Yea LSU and the State have money problems.TAF doesn't..trust me on that.

At least 4-5 things need to happen for things to change IMHO:

1) a Federal agency needs to investigate the NCAA (as well as the $EC and other top schools)

2) evidence needs to be compiled for presentation (a central online repository should be set up where all people with evidence of payments should be able to post their evidence -- both tangible and credible anecdotal evidence)

3) an online petition needs to start with fans, students and coaches of all "non-bag" schools adding their name to the petition online. This could be announced to fans of every school on message boards

4) #2 & #3 need to be presented to major media outlets like Yahoo Sports (our old favorite) and others. A great story needs to be delivered to them with a bow on top

5) Someone with a significant amount of time needs to serve as a catalyst for the above

That is how change would be effected. This needs to become a national story with "legs". We will continue to lose out on certain recruits who "want a change of scenery" until something like the above happens. The playing field is uneven and things need to change.

That’s why I said what I said. 10 years ago TAF wouldn’t be paying for that...when this occurred.

TAF has always paid for this type stuff just like at most other schools. The boosters pay the kids not the school directly. The school would be CRAZY to get involved directly.

Isn’t TAF a booster club?

And if we as much as break wind, we'll get hit up with some dumb charges. SMH

Not only that, but media luminaries will say that we are not only the worst thing that they have ever seen in college football, but perhaps all of sports. There will be calls to cancel our season or cancel our program.

Meanwhile Saban leases cars to his players, Alabama recruits post pictures of themselves with massive amounts of cash on national signing day, and nothing is said.
