Bad QB, no running game and just short passes with nothing vertical. They wanna win these games 20-14. NC State will not be a fun team to watch this year.

Let me ask you this. When any player makes a tackle, is his head in front of his body? Rhetorical question. Of course it is.

True targeting is when the player flattens his back turning himself into a battering ram which is dangerous for himself and the offensive player.

The other way is flattening the neck which is lowering the head to "target" the offensive player.

What we're seeing called targeting are just normal tackles where the defender doesn't have his shoulders to one side of the offensive player so his helmet is going to contact the defender.
If the tackle is high, the helmets are going to make contact. These plays happen many times per game on running plays.

These are not malalicious or purposed hits. They're just ordinary tackles.
