Louisville vs NC State

Let me ask you this. When any player makes a tackle, is his head in front of his body? Rhetorical question. Of course it is.

True targeting is when the player flattens his back turning himself into a battering ram which is dangerous for himself and the offensive player.

The other way is flattening the neck omehich is lowering the head to "target" the offensive player.

What we're seeing called targeting are just normal tackles where the defender doesn't have his shoulders to one side of the offensive player. The plays happen many times per game on running plays.

These are not malalicious or purposed hits. They're just ordinary tackles.
I didn’t write the rule. I thought was weak *** call.

Mercy… I pray these DBs play like this when we play them, easy pickings there. The QBs too! Taking sacks and giving up the ball!

Ya'll were making Louisville out to be a juggernaught after last week

Just shows how bad Boston College is :pgdead:

People gave BC way too much credit over the FSU game. Boston College has been doo doo all season against doo doo teams

I don't like the rule as it's written. I would like the emphasis of the rule to change to the 2 points I made on flattening the back or the neck.

That will tell you intent or bad form which should be penalized to protect both players.

I also think they need to do away with being thrown out of the game and sitting.

It should be a personal foul. If you get 2 personal fouls you're out of the game. That rule exists today. They just need to change the targeting to not be thrown out and having to sit.
