Losing in winning? (Miami-Vatech thoughts)

He seems to not be streaky when they let him get in a rhythm and throw.

His bad streak this season not coincidentally occurred during the A-gap month. Even then vs smu he was good except that last INt.
they took the ball out of his hands. the run game failed and he tried to over compensate

Extremely satisfied - we used to be an embarrassment.

I hope you and the many others have put your hands in your pockets for NIL deals.
?

I'm a regular ***** why am I coming out my pocket for NIL? 😂

Last I checked, he was the number one rated PFF defensive end this year
Yea yea and last I checked ( a couple weeks ago) florida state was the number one ranked offense in the country. Numbers dont lie but sometimes they dont tell the whole truth either.

Since the 4 team CFP never materialized and now the 12 team is proving to be much more difficult than originally thought, we’ll get them when it’s expanded to 16. Of this I’m sure.

I can't help but chuckle at this fan base complaining about a 9 (possibly 10) win season, on the back of a 10 win season last year only beating VT by 17 in Blacksburg.

I'd love to bottle the feeling we had after losing to Middle Tennessee St (**** you could name a dozen games in the last 20 years like that) and open it up in a thread. That was inexcusable. This is just a very good football team that isn't quite elite enough to overcome refereeing yet.

Calm down and enjoy the ride. Good lord.
you know what... ok you right.

We need better RBs. Pringle, Fletch, Brown are complimentary pieces not starters on a championship team

Bain has 3 sacks on the season. That’s not it for a guy who is supposed to be the best player. Miss me with that holding ish

Game shouldn’t have been that close

Offense did the part for the most part
Pringle is a true freshman, in many cases he’d be getting garbage carries this year but he’s stepped up and can definitely be a starter imo.

Hard to complain about todays' win.

  • A pair of 2nd quarter FGs could have been TDs had Baumann not drop one (knocked out of his hands) and VT not tipped a pass to a wide open Toney.
  • A bad snap created horrible field position
  • Some usual poor officiating and a lack of focus allowed a late VT touchdown.
At the end of the day Miami could have won 45-10 and not made a dent in the CFP.

  • Notre Dame up 49-0 on Cuse in 2nd quarter
  • USC playing toe-to-toe at Oregon. Ducks up 21-14 in 2nd quarter
  • Vanderbilt up 24-3 on Kentucky in 2nd quarter
Hopefully we get a few upsets....

If you think the committee would’ve took us more serious if we won 41-0 you’re mistaken. They’d be trying to put a 3 loss SEC team in over us somehow.

Miami is their villain and perfect scapegoat.
Bingo. Kirk on gameday pushing the narrative of a 3 loss Texas team deserves to be in. Thats where college football is at.

The game was never in doubt. Miami didn’t punt until the 4th quarter. After their first possession Va Tech never had the ball within 1 score. The FGs instead of TDs skewed the perception of the actual game.

also….usually like Reddick but he was overly dramatic today

If Texas loses to Arkansas today, I’m sure the narrative will shift to, “well if the Longhorns upset A&M on Friday that is a quality win. I’m sure that the playoff committee would have to keep that in consideration.”

I had to turn off the audio. The announcer was unbearable. I kept waiting for him to bring up that stupid lunch pail of VA Tech and celebrate it, especially after the onside.

Before the season began,10-2 is where I believed we should be. Like most, I assumed we’d lose 2 out of 3 games of ND, FSU, and Florida.

There have been inconsistencies, but the team and coaching staff has grown.

This team is actually better than our record.

Last year we had way too many close games that came down to whoever had the ball last won.

This year we’ve won games decisively. We just need to get a puncher’s chance in the CFP.

So watch the game and see how he affects **** near every play. PFF does not just account for stats either. Educate yourself.
