Look to the Transfer Portal: Discussion thread

Think we found Cignetti's burner account
Yup i think he’s hands down the best coach in CFB, has done more with less. Teams always prepared. Doesn't lose game he shouldn't to this point in his tenure. Clearly he resonates with players. Definitely respect his resume.

I love Mario too. But im not a homer and i dont glaze every decision he makes. I just dont agree with Marios strategy on the opening weekend of portal season, and especially for the reasons the insiders are reporting. Agents, Players, money, our competition are not waiting around for when “we are ready” after the fiesta bowl. These kids have to relocate, find living accommodation, enroll by certain times.

Sincerely, Cignetti’s Burner Account

Which were what exactly?

I think thats insulting to IU, who made 2 playoffs in 2 years, and won a big 10 title and is 2 wins away from a NC 🏆. Everyone is trying to improve roster with grown men who have game tape of high level performance.

But could you imagine the boards if we had their recruiting classes. You only have so much money. Maybe going veteran one/two year guys is the way to go. Time will tell.

Steve, with all due respect, Cignetti hasn’t won **** and I hope he fails miserably.

my friend with all due respect….he has Indiana…yes the hoosiers of basketball fame, an annual embarrassment in the Big Ten in football for 70 years, in back to back CFP, with a Big 10 Title he won in year 2. Yea he won some **** 🙄 As he says “google him” 🤣🤣

But i agree with you on one point - I hope he fails miserably this year. Although, I hope we play them. I definitely dont want to see Dan Lanning and his over inflated budget win

12 of our starters are transfers compared to 14 for Indiana but people are here act like they build vastly different, maybe if we Georgia cause I think 3 transfer starters.
Are you just looking at solely this seasons transfers?
Offensively only Omar Cooper, their Center, and RT are the guys that weren't transfers
Defensively one of their DTs, two of their LBs, and 2 of their DBs are the guys that weren't transfers
Out of like all their contributors, it's at least like 17+ or something.

Miami has 6 total portal guys on offense and 7 total defensive guys that received snaps against Ohio St. So that'd be 13 total players

Also the other factor is Indiana doesn't have as highly rated HS recruits. They were the 50th ranked class in 25', and 33rd in 26'. That's not to say they aren't going to get the most out of them, just that those guys likely are easier to retain with portalling ahead of them.

Guess depends which week you base it off of. Blay and Lucas didn't start against Ohio St. So that'd be 10 instead of 12 which would put us at 45% which would be tied for bottom on this list....

Regardless Indiana has definitely been more reliant on the portal for their roster than us. He took JMUs entire team basically, and then added a lot of guys this past year. Most of their offense is portal except legit like contributors. Defensively they have like 6-8 that aren't portal guys that contribute...
