Saban had a losing record and lost to a division 2 school. This coming after a complete fail job with the Dolphins. Kirby beat Nichols State by 2 at home. Dabo had a losing record his second season.

If you knew football and “schemes were red flags” maybe you’d be a coach or something. Instead you sit behind a computer bashing a coach after 4 games who was left with a roster with major holes at certain positions. You know **** maybe find another team to root for.

Guys straight-up feared Butch Davis in the late nineties.

That's why they were so happy to have Substitute Teacher Larry in 2001 and beyond.

I have zero issue with what Diaz is doing. This is no different than what JJ and Butch were praised or AFTER they'd turned things around. (Yes, the same JJ that went 8-5, lost three embarrassing games to end the year in 1984.)

Social media has "fans" dissecting things play by play in a way that didn't exist years back.

Godforbid there was Twitter or message boards in 1984 after JJ blew a 31-0 halftime lead to Maryland or lost to Flutie on a Hail Mary the next game—with the defending national champs. These boards would've melted.

I'm not really concerned with that because our defense showed up every Saturday under Richt mentally tough enough to keep us in games inspite of the ****ery on offense.

Manny has plenty of blame this season but after game 4 of year 1 anyone wetting themselves over this might as well take the next couple years off. Who knows how this turns out but essentially being mad at Manny for anything he does is asinine and shortsighted.

No one liked CMU but the juxtaposition between how the fanbase acted on these boards after Bethune and CMU is comical and infantile.

The answer is yes. Schollys at most schools (there are only a few that are 4 year grantees with USC being the most high profile) are renewed every year at the behest of the HC. They can absolutely tell someone to “move on”

Sure it’s a little contradiction but the guy had 97 games under his belt. Had a career 47-50 record as a head coach. And to be completely embarrassed like that game 1 at home against a ****** VT team. Yea the whole world knew he was a clown.

But, you must admit that he says the things that we want to hear from a Miami HC and he has the look of a guy who really believes what he is saying. You are blaming Manny Diaz for taking a job Flake Shames should not have offered him.

Like you, I thought the hire was rushed as ****. And if you ask me, UM HC is not a job for a rookie college coach to cut his teeth. But it's not Manny's fault that Flake is a **** fool getting hustled out there, nor does it mean Manny can't learn quickly and rise to the occasion.

Now that it is Manny's job, notwithstanding the fact that I did not like the process that hired him, I will set that **** aside and judge him by the product on the field. And that'll be a measured approach, over time. Not crazy, knee-jerk reactions based on unreasonable expectations and hurt feelings.

The defense didn’t show up every Saturday under Richt. We looked like utter trash on both sides of the ball plenty during several losing streaks.

With that said, people will continue to have an issue with certain things that Manny does or says if we don’t see results on the field. If we don’t see the necessary adjustments and improvements, from a coaching standpoint, people are going to have an issue with every interview. Nature of the beast.

The showing vs CMU was pathetic.

Same thing happened under Alverage. Same for CMR. Same for Manny.
