LOL, OK here it is, todays presser from Manny Diaz...

Im not sure if you’re trolling or not, but heres a piece from Stefan’s piece on Manny’s presser today:

According to Diaz, competitive effort in practice during the week is directly tied to playing time on Saturday’s.

“You’re trying to play your most competitive guys, want to recruit the most talented, competitive guys you can find,” Diaz said.

Does Diaz feel Miami has competitive players in his locker room?

“We don’t have noncompetitive guys, our guys are competing,” Diaz said. “The difference is how often are we competing and are competing at different times.”

You can connect your own dots..

you said his DEFENSE should be cultured, and I asked do they not compete. Connect yours.

You loaf, you die.

Thats what my wrestling coach believed in. And if one guy loafs, everyone loafed.

Didn't happen often, but wearing sweats, doing wind sprints on the basketball court carrying your team captain on your back gets old very, very quickly.
not a sport

Our head coach literally came out today saying they don’t consistently compete so what the are you asking me for? I connected the dots just fine.

I do think his defense should be cultured by now and obviously he is saying they are not because he can’t get them to buy in and compete daily.

Manny explaining what does not need to be explained to begin with. Players already on the lazy trajectory. That’s failed coaching. I’d like to see how many players on the top three teams feel they can call it in, and survive.

Thomas catch the punt and/or let it go and we stop 4th and 17 and we wouldn't be having this discussion.
Yes we would. You can disregard Bethune because we did exactly what we were supposed to do. If we went into last weeks game 3-0 instead of 1-2 the uproar would be just as loud, if not louder.

He said the TEAM did not compete consistently and last time I checked the last 4 years it has been the defense keeping us in games on gameday. I highly doubt competing is an issue for our defense.

Last time I checked the DEFENSE is part of the TEAM. So yes competing is an issue for our defense.

You don't like the staff that's fine. But how about playing for your fellow teammates? Playing for the fans who pay and take up an entire Saturday to come see you? In the golden age, that's all the players talked about. Playing for the man next to you. I never heard any of them say they played for Butch or Jimmy or Howard or Dennis. They played because they didn't want to let the man next to them down.

I am not happy with certain members of the staff either (mainly Enos and Baker) but I am not letting the players off the hook with a "I don't like the staff, scheme or play calling so I'm just going to half-a$$ it in protest"...F that.
Totally agree. Canes of past went way beyond "team". They were family. Because of the love, and respect, they had for each other they were the policemen, not so much the coaches. The only time I ever heard of a HC going ballistic over a performance was the Canes at Rutgers where, at the half, Butch broke a chair against a wall in the locker room to get their attention. Second half we came back and dominated. Even a half blind fan watching the game could see that this team half-azzed it on Saturday.

So you think a coach would just flat out say something like that about a specific unit, coach, or player in an interview. OK nothing else to see hear. SMH

No, If we were 4-0 it would not be any backlash even with that game Saturday
Dude, there's people here that will bytch about every little detail including how the little U isn't angled right on the uniform. There's a segment that is doom and gloom about everything. You couldn't get 100% of the people here to say that an ****** feels good.

But 4-0 with a close loss to an awful team like CMU would keep them quiet.

Agreed. But I don't think they would be screaming fire Manny and Enos and pack the program up and were going 4-7 talk.
