Lo vs Steed, who won???

Yes, I can't wait to get a chance to see both in the Spring game. The biggest thing for a running back when getting acclimated to college ball is patience and trusting their speed. If you are very quick, it allots you more time to be patient. When it's there the quickness will get you to the whole in enough time to make a play. That is the big difference in what I seen in Mark Walton as a freshman/sophomore to his junior year. His junior year Walton was very patient behind the LOS and it paid off. He was going to have a very big junior season!!!

Exactly. That’s what I’ve been saying about the running back position. It doesn’t require speed. Just vision, balance and quickness. The leading rusher in the history of the NFL ran a 4.7 40 yard dash. But he had vision, balance and quickness.

WHO GIVES AF! TERRY MCCRAY GOT A OFF A BLOCK!
Most likely he was unblocked and they expected the QB to freeze him a little with the fake. Truth be told though, my son has told me that he really doesn't know why Mccray didn't get any burn at LB. He said he was looking good on scout team last year.

Probably will be back at LB in the fall. Dline numbers are a little low and that gives the young LB more reps. Coaches probably already know what McCray gives them

lol something similar to this -

I don't know.
I am going to wait for Lingard's dad to come on here and tell us his side of the story.
;)

Ok, he said he wrapped him up in the whole for about a 2 yard gain. They weren't full live so the picture was probably more exciting than the actual play. There you have it. Stalemate!!!

Just goes to show how it’s so hard to tell from a nanosecond snapshot in time, holes can close quick, but what still stands out to me are balance and leverage, Steed looks like he has more of both and is in good position, so had that been full live, the RB should not get very far at all no matter the size of the hole. So 2 yds max would have been best case scenario for the rb in my humble opinion.

DENZEL was a train wreck waiting to happen!!! That clip does look pretty close to what I was imagining probably happened.

I think Lo probably presented a stiffer challenge than Augustus who we know that despite his size ran more often like a Julia.

I totally agree with you. I was disappointed that it wasn’t a tackle for loss. I think Lingard showed have been more patient and checked for the cut back but its easy for me to say that now by just looking at a picture.

The U won. Got both Lo and Steed to be on the team.

Have to agree.

They’re both ready to play. Lo’s a freshman with a lot of talent but he’s going to have a learning curve like any freshmans.

Steed looks like he’s really coming along and that picture and earlier tape shows what I believe highlight some of his strengths: lower body strength/explosion, balance, lateral quickness. If he can be decisive and continue to use this time and the summer to improve and learn into the position - you’re going to be seeing him getting worked into the rotation frequently this year. The skills are clearly there.
