Lingard and coach’s lack of communication

You can't win with these new school players and the me first attitude.

So let's the coaches decide not to be cautious and play him and he blows out his knee.

Guess what the family will say oh they played him too soon just to try and get wins.

Like seriously why would they hold him off unless they want to see if they can redshirt him and play him in the last four games. That way he's fully recovered from the injury and gets another year of eligibility.

Honestly I just don’t get our fans. This jaded-victim-we’re 2nd rate- mentality kills me.

Anyone other fan base would go in on this guys dad. You think Bama, Clemson, Ohio State, OU Fans would let someone bash the coaches online. Everyone saw how OSU fans went after Tate’s sister. (Now I’m not saying go after anyone online I think it’s stupid) but our fans would rather side with the parent giving one side of the story with no evidence just so they can bash the team and coaches.

Has he played at all? If not, hold him until the last few games. Try to redshirt him, like McCloud.
There is no sense in redshirting him, unless you think somehow he will get that 6th year of eligibility. Who here thinks a 5 star RB will stick around for 6 years? I sure don't. We lost a title because Coker didn't want to lose a year with Frank Gore. A year he lost anyway because Gore went pro early. You play RBs, period. If you can get 5 games from them in a season, you do it. They simply don't stick around if they are good.

I don't mind them taking a cautious approach with the kid (see Kevin Durant and Gurley), but I really hope they aren't jerking him around.

Give him a set return date, and stick to your word.

You guys talk about lack of depth, well this is one of the curses of having a ton of depth

RB position? Loaded

WR position? Loaded

it shouldn't be no surprise then that players are not gonna be happy. Can't snap the ball to 7 wide receivers and 3 RB's every play, and with the attitude of todays players it's even worse. I agree it's time to get him in here, the guy has barely played a snap since he got here.

That being said, the cold truth is he was hobbled all of spring/summer and then got a concussion. The doctors obviously still have him in the brace for a reason, I doubt that's manny being over cautious.

He's been an ambassador to the program, and we need some life on offense. If I'm manny I give him 5-10 snaps minimum next game and see how it goes. If he looks like the 5 star player that he was rated, then give him as many as needed. THEN we can all watch the other two RB's start getting irritated and repeat all this non-sense again in a different format because we're CIS and that's what we do.

We are not loaded at these positions. Just because people keep saying it doesn't make it true.

You're right. He's just coming off being injured for almost a year and coaches whose livelihood depends on winning games are purposefully not playing Lingard.

Lol; I can’t. U’re right; lets just bubble wrap everybody, b/c clearly the kid is incapable of knowing his body, right?

And we wonder why kids go to Bama or Ga although roster stocked in front of them, example Kenny McIntosh ripping off a 66 yard TD as a 5th string RB. They getting some PT at least.
UGA got like 20 RBs, and they find a way for all of them to get love. Perfect example. (And yes, I’m exaggerating on their 20 RBs, they only have 19. Lol)

Then you aren’t watching the games. Dude almost paralyzed a UNC safety for lowing his head during a tackle attempt.
O i watch the games. I only seen him run that way maybe 2 or 3 times. He is barely averaging 4 yards a carry.

Doesn't really seem to be the case this year. They had a special backfield the last few years. This year the focus is mainly on Swift. He had 18 carries last game and the other back had 8. I want to see Lingard play too, but this constant the coaches don't know what they're doing and the bashing needs to end. We are 4 games into a new coach and a whole new offensive staff.

Are you really going to compare the amount of money in the game given to players today from 20 years ago? Do you really think the comparison is valid? It's probably not. College football is a completely different game today than it was 20 years ago because of the money

No; I’m not saying that at all; I’m saying that the argument that they (Clemson players) “stayed b/c they were paid” is dumb af! I gave examples of our players who stayed b/c they had something to prove.

Believe it or not, just b/c our program sucks *** and we got players who have 5th round to UDFA NFL grades leaving regardless, some kids still have pride in their program and still have chips on their shoulders to amend unfinished business.

I know ya’ll live in this world of “they got, said, recruit b/c of the bagman” or “they only stayed b/c of the bagman” b/c what other reason could it be that every other team is having success, and we suck?? I know, I get it; it’s a fckin narrative that’s continued on to make everyone feel good about our woes, but what kid or fck it, you, would risk millions of guaranteed $ to come back to a couple of thousands? That’s dumb af! Or, or, or, maybe just maybe, my (their) bond w these guys, my pride w/in my school, and chip on this shoulder is saying we got some unfinished business and I don’t want my legacy to end like this? What a concept! U know what? WE USED TO HAVE PLAYERS LIKE THAT HERE! Winning, a culture of success, a fun college atmosphere, all will do that.

I can tell you everyone thought Matt Leinhart was dumb for coming back to USC when he was guaranteed the #1 overall pick. He came back b/c be loved winning and wanted to accomplish something that no modern day QB ever did; win 3 National Championships, in a row. That was his chip, his legacy.

U can believe what u want. Bags r real; yep. But bags ain’t the justification for everything.

Swift, Cook, and Herrien all get burn.

And they don’t. Tf?

Deejay & Cam are both solid college RBs.

Lingard is elite & a home run threat. He's exactly what the Old (Great) Miami was. Anyone that has seen him play knows that.

We need elite production at the RB position. When is the last time one of our RBs housed a long one? When Duke Johnson was here? We've been missing that.

The coaches would be crazy to redshirt Lingard if he's healthy. They badly need to win now. Not next year but now. This single decision could in large part dictate the success of the Diaz era as HC. Play Lingard now (extensively) and end up with a winning record & salvage recruiting. Don't play Lingard the rest of the season & end up with a losing record & severely damage recruiting. That could really hurt the trajectory of the Diaz era.

When Lingard plays extensively, you will see the difference. You will see what we've been missing at the RB position (home run threat with elite speed). If Lingard is healthy, he needs to be the featured back. Huge mistake not to play him, if he's sufficiently healthy.

On a separate note, Lorenzo should be grateful to the coaches that they haven't rushed him back & have protected his health (and his future). His family should be grateful for that too. However, if he is now healthy then he should be playing extensively.

He's an X Factor that could very well lead to additional wins (which are sorely needed at this point).
Great post !

So was Ed Reed paid to stay? Maybe Bryant McKinnie? How about Phillip Buchanon? What about J Shockey?

All those guys had NFL draft grades of 1st - 2nd rounds.

On my mama, ya’ll ninja’s have developed an inferiority complex. Taking on the persona of the coaches & this Mickey Mouse ran football squad.

none of those guys were.

that's true.

but i was speaking about the clemson and alabama players. 20 years later, things are a bit different.

If we can't start staying ahead of the sticks and converting third downs, there won't be enough carries to go around period.

I'm one of the few who felt like he hs film was average. Maybe looks like Tarzan takes hits like Jane
