Rumor LG rumors

Think Okunlola is just a tackle. But I also think Rodriguez is just a Center. Wouldn't want to go an entire season with him as the starting guard personally. McCoy is probably the right choice.

Seems to be the top 7 are:

LT: Rivers / Okunlola
LG: McCoy
C: Carpenter / Rodriguez
RG: Cooper
RT: Mauigoa

Now the real question is if like McCoy or Cooper went down, would we just put Rodriguez in at OG if he beat out Okunlola for an interior position, or would we move Mauigoa to OG and put Okunlola in at OT...
The latter IMO.

Any way you spin it, it’s not great if Rod is the LG. That will be a liability.

I expect McCoy to be LG starter. RRod may indeed be the backup bc from what I’ve read, Samson has been working at tackle backup.
How can you say that? Are you at the practices? At the workouts? At the film evaluations? Are you criticizing and comparing their techniques? I’m being serious here.
I’m not saying you’re wrong about McCoy being the starter. He may or may not be. We will find out soon enough. What I am saying is unless you have real access, saying “it’s not great if Rod is the LG” is based on your imagination or what you want to believe. I dgaf how many stars the guy had in high school. I want the best cohesive unit out there that yields the best results.

The results say he was. KJ was playing on Sundays last I saw. How’s Mark doing?

The only reason you think that is because he is 6'2".

He's always been a better guard prospect. He's just a better guard. He can snap, he can play center, but his best position is left guard. He was a tackle in high school. The versatility is nice.

Ryan has never not succeeded.

Won a championship at every level (5 in a row before high school with players littered throughout college football right now; starting left tackle on the first ever Columbus state title team with players littered throughout college football right now). Was always one of the better players and quiet leaders on those teams.

Maybe he could have left with all the other Manny Diaz rejects, but didn't. That's not him at all. Unlike a lot of local prospects who say its their dream to play for the University of Miami, but dip the minute they get in their feelings, this is really his and his family's dream. Borregales family the same way.

Stuck it out, even in the face of a season long injury with Mario and Mirabal here. Worked his way up from the literal BOTTOM of the depth chart with a new coach that put countless players on the roster to process players if they didn't like it. But Ryan's still here and lots of those other players aren't.

He played pretty **** well when called upon late last year.

I have no doubt he'll do the job when called upon this year.

He's a dawg.

Can’t teach dawg. Your post made me change my mind. Let’s roll with whatever at LG will play mean and fizical.

Let’s beat the gators

We are 9 deep at OL. I'd rather have McCoy, Pancake, Rodriguezx, Kinsler, or Bell as our 5th man at starting LG than any of UF's starters.

He did? How am I first seeing this now
I saw him after practice several days ago in a sling, and he was on the sideline watching the scrimmage without pads on in the most recent highlight vid. Doesn't mean he won't start or play, but he may not be 100% and the staff appears to trust RR.

Fatson is going to dominate Rodriguez

I am convinced there’s never been a fanbase in history that’s been more obsessed with LG than this board has been the last year

Sometimes it only takes the weak link brother.

Our run game was single handedly stifled by Donaldson in the past lunging at DTs flying past him.
