Age in the OL is how you dominate. You can mix in a stud Fr/soph. But the best lines are typically 3-4 and 5 years guys. Grown men.

I think it’s his 4th yr and McCoy 3rd. I think.

It’s all about the best 5 and if he is part of then that means McCoy never took the next step and Samson isn’t a 5 star talent. Rodriguez is solid but that doesn’t win trench warfare

Someone on 247 earlier today made a thread letting people know Ryan Rodriguez is starting at LG. No one knows whether or not this guy is legit or if its just rumors.

About 90 mins ago David lake predicted the 2 deep. On the LG he has it as "Matthew Mccoy OR Ryan Rodriguez" which gives this guy who started the rumor a bit more credibility.

Thoughts?

Any way you spin it, it’s not great if Rod is the LG. That will be a liability.

I expect McCoy to be LG starter. RRod may indeed be the backup bc from what I’ve read, Samson has been working at tackle backup.

And you know this how exactly? Are you at practices each day evaluating performance?

He’s an undersized guard (barely 6-2 and he’s a puffed up 290-300). Adequate backup center at this point. If you think that’s the right physical makeup for a starting guard, I don’t know what to tell you. And if he indeed beat out Samson and McCoy, I have a LOT more questions about our OL depth.
