View attachment 118889View attachment 118890I also turned this lil crab and a decent red I caught on the pier into this meal!
Here's the 2nd jump, I was grabbing the wheel and one hand shooting with the other, thus the blur.holy moly that’s a hog poon
I've eaten them, but I've still never caught one. I can't say I've spent a lot of time trying though.Snook are delicious. One of my most disappointing fishing experiences was getting hooked on a monster snook. I was in flamingo and he ran up in mangroves. After about 5 minutes I somehow fought him out and got him to the boat after another 5 min or so. It's mate followed him to the boat and I let him run so my brother could try to catch the mate. Turned out to be a shark about the same size. The line went loose and I pulled in this monster snook head with the gills still moving. Still don't know how I got him out of the mangroves. I'm still ****ed at that shark.
Wish I could be out on the water with you guys, ain't **** to catch up here in SC.

Snook or Redfish, which tastes better?
Snook smoked; redfish blackened...Snook or Redfish, which tastes better?
I would go out to catch grouper from san Carlos pass just south from B.G. pass. One day coming in I saw the shadow of the biggest hammerhead cross in front of me I was awe struck. They're some big suckers out there.Hey, now that's a feat landing hooking up off the jetty and still landing it. Some great big Hammerheads there during Tarpon Season, when I was guiding I saw one that was easy 16-feet, its dorsal was so big it flopped over, it was at dawn and it was tossing a 100lb tarpon like a cat playing with a canary.

I already told you. You need to move down here....This is a winning thread.
This something I always wanted to learn how to do bruh.
Like no BS. I don’t know where to start though. But the pics and food look fire.
I love those action photos. They are special! Here's the 2nd jump, I was grabbing the wheel and one hand shooting with the other, thus the blur.View attachment 118911
Big snook in Matlacha. Castnet some greenies or finger mullet. Set some pinfish traps by the phosphate docks.Boca grande is the only place i wont reach into the water to help release fish. Insane amount of sharks. I love all of that pine island area too.
I'll be fishing in Charleston 2 weeks from now, can't wait. I'm in Rock Hill (near Charlotte) and fishing here sucks. Like using live bait and can't catch **** bad.I’m in Charleston and the fishing is on fire all year
You must be in the gulf is that right?
You just fish inshore or do you head out? I'm looking for an occasional buddy boat if you're interested? When I was out at Comanche there was nobody insight, couldn't even get a radio check.I’m in Charleston and the fishing is on fire all year
You're lucky. I was in the keys yesterday. My wife said where do they put all those boats? We literally saw a hundred being trailered on the turnpike and us1...You just fish inshore or do you head out? I'm looking for an occasional buddy boat if you're interested? Here is a Flamingo mangrove snook circa 2000. There was a spot 5 minutes from the marina where you'd be on a huge snook, red, jewfish or shark and you'd never know but it was fun.Snook are delicious. I think it was just the day or maybe just the distance. A month or so ago I was at nearer shore reef trolling for spanish mack and the boats looked like a sandbar pileup. I couldn't believe how close the boats were to each other but my buddy said that's the way it is out here. You're lucky. I was in the keys yesterday. My wife said where do they put all those boats?
