You guys need to look at root cause of our issues and solutions instead of **** complaining year after year, which according to "Hegemon" should make you smarter. Think about it guys!! The guys making our coaching decisions do not know a **** thing about "True Leadership" for they are not true Leaders. It's not money issues guys!! Look at the definition of insanity and that's exactly what we've been doing.

You are literally trying to lecture this board on things we have talked about and discussed till it makes us nauseous. Your not providing any new insight into anything. Just go to the search bar and type in "Manny" and go look at past and current threads.

Appreciate your passion but as a new poster your coming off as a troll and youll see by the responses in this thread.

We have identified the root cause. It's Blake James and the BOT

I agree about the complaining because it solves nothing however this board is where guys come to vent. Telling them to stop complaining isnt gonna work.

Think about this. Even on this board, most of the people chiming in are not "True Leaders". They are basically followers.

A "True Leader" is very different. They have 360* Peripheral vision as it relates to their professional vision and they are very clear of their life vision. They are eccentric and self centered. Notice how little patience Nick Saban has for bull****!! Their main focus is on their Team and Families. They are not distracted by all of the noise around them. "True Leaders" are worth their weight in gold. You will notice right away when you encounter one. How many people like this have we seen in the football world? Vince Lombardi, Don Shula, Jimmy Johnson, Nick Saban, Dabo Sweeney, Urban Meyers, and then we start running out of such special people. In the college ranks they are great recruiters because they speak from their hearts and do not bull**** you. The parent(s) of these kids relate to and feel this!!

As it relates to the UM Program and of which I've been a fan of for over 45 years, how many "True Leaders" have led our program historically? Schellenberger, Johnson and maybe Butch Davis. That's about it. This will lead me to the next question:

Is Manny Diaz a "True Leader"? My answer is a quick and resounding No. Even though I am a fellow Cuban American, but a "True Leader". He is trying to learn to be one but it's just basically just not there. Don't feel it. He is basically a politician!!

I totally disagree that money now days creates a successful program. David Shula was at Alabama before Saban. Alabama had tons of money back then too! Was David successful at Alabama? Is David a "True Leader"? No, but he is a very nice man. University of Texas has tons of booster money. Have you checked their revolving coaching door in the past 10 years or so?

Bottom line is, "If you win they will come", and you win with those very, very few coaches that are true "Born Leaders". Until we have one, if we ever do, the heart breaks will continue folks.

ESPN made an effort for conferences to take over the sport as a whole and push a narrative so money was pumped into these programs via conference only TV deals. They celebrate college towns a lot more than they used to but ironically we've been on game day a lot more often since 2017. Schools like Washington USC & Miami seem to have a tougher time competing. What Alabama can do with their money now (have a coach leave and replacing with a fired NFL coach as an assistant) barely anyone could do that 20 years ago now it's common for the upper tier.

Good point. I'll give it to you. My main issue, as an Engineer, is that when a rocket blows up, in analyzing the problem we asked three simple questions- 1)What worked?, 2)What didn't work? and lastly 3)What are we going to do to prevent re-occurrences? This gets us normally down to root cause and prevention of future issues.

On this board we don't seem interested in solutions. Just babbling and *****ing!!

By the way, if you think coaches don't read these boards, or other communication channels, you are kidding yourselves. How do you think they ultimately found out that in our NC game, rushing problems were due to our DE's being out of position, and for which we never adjusted. They found out through Social Media channels.

Coaches are human as well and don't always have solutions to what we deem as simple problems. We give them way too much credit. That is why I feel that focusing on solutions could help us greatly! One person can come up with a good idea but a group pf people can come up with a great one.

Manny is just not a "True Leader" and will just not make it. We need to hire our next coach based on his lifelong Leadership skills first, Football skills second and people skills third. As a Leader my main job is to surround myself with people that are smarter and better qualified than me, for that will make my Team better and stronger. There's a common denominator when we look at current successful football Leaders like Saban, Meyer, Sweeny, etc. These coaches don't plan to fail. Everything they do is built on success. They are control freaks and do not leave their destiny in the hands of an assistant coach not better qualified than them. Talk to Butch Davis about football and life. I have!

This could be a lengthy process and it has to start with a competent AD. Researching the history of "True Leaders". We need to begin this process now.

Bro your saying things on here we've said a thousand times. We all know what the problem is however we cannot control who the AD hires or the BOT approves to hire. All we can do is hope they get rid of Blake and hire someone competent who understands these things

Not for nothing pleanty of "Leaders" have failed before as well. I dont care about quality of leadership and that BS...give me a competent coach who understands football, lives, eats and breaths it. Thats who kids want to play for...Thats what Meyer, Dabo and Saban do.
