That was an enjoyable game to watch. Thanksgiving college football games are generally sloppy, so that's to be expected to an extent. Good win for Mississippi State.

So I guess this means we shoulda hired Mike Leach.

It was fun. People can knock both of these coaches but they know their craft. The defense MSU called initially on the 2 pt attempt won them the game. He knew Lane was going bootleg and they had it played. Forced him to use 2 time outs. Leach and Lane love the chess match. Say what you want, Leach understands offense, that knowledge on offense has slowly made his defenses better over the years. His dc made some great calls at really key moments. Have to believe that was in part to Leach's intelligence on Lane's "general" scheme.
 
Idk if I’m drunk or what but I ran to CIS after the finish expecting a whole thread on the coRching right there.

Ole miss was down 2 ahead of a 2pt conversion attempt with 3 timeouts and 1:31 left…. AND THEY USED 2 TIMEOUTS BEFORE THE PLAY?!?!?!?!

1- How do you not have a play dialed up before the drive knowing you’re down 8?

2- WHY DID YOU USE 2 TIMEOUTS WHEN YOU COULDVE STOPPED CLOCK AFTER THE ONSIDE???

Am I drunk? Those timeouts should’ve been unusable I feel. I’d rather the delay of game at that point

Shi**y coaching by Lane burning two timeouts there. What was he thinking? If you have all 3 TO’s even if you don’t get the two points you potentially have a shot to get the ball back.

Agreed, I get it was a key point but that was awful. The 2nd timeout I saw why, but roll the dice at that point.
 
Lane coached the exact opposite of what he normally does. Every other game he would have gone for it instead of kicking those 3 FGs early. And normally he would’ve taken the 3 instead of going for it in the 2nd half.

The entire second half including two pt conversion thing was him not gameplanning. Dude couldn’t have cared less. What he was doing wasn’t working and he just kept doing it. I’m telling you he was scheduling the movers during halftime.
