The talk prior to the NFL draft advisory board grades coming back was that the two DTs and Jackson were leaning towards entering the draft early, but it looks like there could be good news coming for Canes.

Sources tell Canesinsight that junior cornerback Michael Jackson will stay for his senior season.

Although R.J. McIntosh said yesterday that the committee advised him to return to school, he is still heavily considering entering the draft. I’m told that McIntosh received his grade from 6 teams — 4 of which had him in the 3rd-4th round range and 2 that had him getting drafted in the 1st-2nd round range. The committee advises any prospect whose grade does not average out to a first or second round pick to return to school, so that is where McIntosh stands.

However, Kendrick Norton, who most inside the program thought was headed to the league, did not receive a grade that he considered satisfactory — the latest talk is that he will return for his senior senior as well.

So to recap, it still appears that McIntosh leaves early, but Norton and Jackson will come back for their senior years.

That’s absolutely huge news. Getting Norton with hopefully a reliable Willis means a nasty DT rotation next year.

Great News! Especially with Norton. Don’t think we have anyone that can replace what he does on the roster. It’s gonna allow Nesta to put on the necessary muscle to take over after next year.

That's the way this should go. Jackson and Norton should come back. It would be a bonus for McIntosh to come back. But he's in that position where he could come back and improve his stock, or go and get drafted around the 3rd round which is still good.

This is really great news.

Peter Ariz you think the staff gone let bandy compete with young for the starting spot?

That would be amazing! MJ plus Norton in 2018 would REALLY shore up some issues.

I'll take 2/3 coming back. Hopefully #80 wants a shot at a natty more than being a mid round pick. next year's line up looks more than adequet to compete for a ring.
